Views on HDB IPO

These days i usually stay out of IPO as most of new gen big companies looks overpriced. And medium or small size companies look too risky with less credible info available.

One reason HDB caught my attention is that it is available at good discount from what some folks acquired about an year back. I could not find any reason for this discount. Also, this IPO has separate quota for existing hdfc share holder. So, that increases chance of allotment.

What are your views on this ipo? I am not looking for listing gain. Happy to hold for 3 to 5 years.

These days ppl are most interested in gmp than anything about the company. SMEs had already shown how a single showroom in MH generated more subs than a fortune 500 company. So listing gains is important for me.

Considering such low Gmp, I won't recommend it's Ipo. People don't know actual value lf good stocks initially so based on Gmp, it can even list negative. Then you can take advantage of that scenario & buy it at even cheaper price.

You said you only apply for listing gain then why this low gmp Sme.
Talking about myself....For SMEs, I only apply if Gmp above 50% and for IPOs only above 30% for listing gains.
For long term holding of good shares, I buy them after listing only for even better prices than Ipo

Most of the recent ipos at least did not give discount listing even overpriced ipos. So it is reasonable valuation and company is good. So whatever listing gain i will exit after that. Calculated risk you can say. Applied for belrise also got 10% profit. Hoping to get the same here

Avoid sme in this market. It is only good in bull market. Right now it is highly volatile. Even if you get listing gain it will be in lower circuit making it hard to exit. Mainboards are giving listing gain maybe small but right now in this market thats all we get.

My ipo money is also resting from last 2-3 months. Not even applied for one. Waiting for better time.
