Union Bank Rupay Select Instakit

Today at 9am I filled the Savings Bank Accoun (SBGEN) form online. It has 1k MAB with cheque and 500 MAB without. I had to upload my photo, signature, address proof etc in the form. After completing took its printout along with AADHAR and PAN Printout and two photos to bank. They verified the details, I asked for Rupay Select. The lady asked other staff which card was available and he gave an kit. (On that KIT Select/Platinum wasn't mentioned). But when she entered in her system, it came Select. Debit card was activated instantly and I am able to use the account without any issuel. By far the quickist of all 8-9 accounts I have opened.
PS: Select Branch carefully, merged banks nearby union branch has 'eCB' code. I went to a different branch at 2'o clock, had to wait half an hour since it was lunch time. At 2:30, the staff told me that my selected branch was some 100m away. Apart from this hassle and a probable "link fail hai', everything was quick and easy.
 
Only signature visa gets 1%. If you open a new account with signature card for HNI account and downgrade, you will be ok. If you change your debit card, loyalty and primary debit card sync won’t happen for few months. But you will earn the reward points most likely (happened with BOB).

For me its been 4-5 months still nothing. Every month I call to union rewards customer care they register complaint then nothing happens . one thing I noticed after 10-15 days of Complaint union rewardz app logs me out of their app. I feel like they try to register but doesnt happen so something.
Read on twitter that someone haven't started earning rewardz for 1 year and still isn't solved. He too changed the card. I guess getting card on opening acct is the best. Dont upgrade .

Yes.. you are right. There is issue with union rewardz if you are existing account holder and have applied for new card...

It comes free with which account?
 
Can you ask them the rewards balance and request redemption? In BOB, the same problem happens but reward points are captured and can be redeemed manually.

Got an SMS from Union Bank on Friday. Went to the branch today, but now the staff is not able to select Rupay Select for me in their system. They are only able to see RuPay Classic and Visa. They are saying I need Rs. 1 Lakh MAB or Salary a/c for RuPay Platinum. I got my account number etc, and setup Internet banking. There is an option for online application of a Debit card. But here I am only able to see RuPay Qsparc and Visa Paywave. Chat Support redirects me to the branch. What can I do?

Apparently just give them salary slip and tell them to convert you account to salary account and get SELECT DC, and tell them salary will start crediting from next month.

They are not gonna verify once an account is converted usually in PSU banks the account scheme remains intact.
Or if you don't want to do all this, maintain 1L for 3 months, hey your a/c upgraded to SBHNI, get the card issued, and after a few month downgrade your account. Card remains the same.

In my case, while opening account, i told the staff that I need rupay select. She then looked into her system and told me that she would issue personalised rupay select which would reach me in 15-20 days. So definitely her system was showing option for rupay select. Then she asked another staff which card was available in bank for instant kit and fortunately that was rupay select. So, I got select in instant kit. Also people who had existing account have also select card by filling debit card application form.. I think your branch may not be aware. I would suggest you to visit a different branch and tell them that you need a new card, they may even give the card instantly if they have select, else would issue a personalised card

I shall try with a different branch. The other cloesby one is in CP. Will also take my salary slip just in case.
 
Finally got my Union RuPay Select DC! Just collected it from the branch, activated the PIN and set up DC limits. Online transactions not going through though. CC says to change the PIN after 24 hours and try again. Interestingly A/C opened as Savings in the Welcome Letter and no DC charges debited (Balance was 0 when I collected DC and Chequebook).

Make 40 transactions to waive off annual fee is mentioned in the welcome letter? Did you open salary account with UBI?
