Standard Chartered Debit Card Devaluation effective 01 Feb 2024

Hi All,

I just received an email regarding SC debit card devaluation effective 01st Feb 24. I have a Prime debit card which used to provide 5% cashback up to INR 500.
Now the cashback will be stopped and converted to reward points on selected categories

Other debit cards from SC have also been devalued or there is a change in reward points

I am creating this thread for discussion on the same and request members to suggest tricks on optimal utilization of SC debit cards with these changes.

That's 0.5% rewards. Even less as 1 point is like 0.20 Rupee.

Yes. All cards have been devalued. I have the Premium variant.

Abhi kuch nahi hoga. RBL Signature+ debit card is the Best debit card Ever Ever Ever Ever..

This is just the beginning, abhi toh India ka 1.4 billion population ko yeh card dilwana hai.

If you spend 5L in a year, you will get 5K bonus GV at the end of the year... making it 2%

Closed my savings account today and invested half of the 2L in FD.
What a mess for me. Closed the account in just 4 days of getting the DC. Never chase such offers as they may get devalued very soon.
