I recently used my SBI Rupay Pragati JCB Card at a coffee shop in Kuala Lumpur Airport Terminal 1, and the transaction went through successfully, including ATM withdrawal. However, immediately after, the card got temporarily blocked.
It seems the bank tried to verify the transaction, but since my SIM card was not set up and I had no mobile network, the verification call could not happen. As a result, the card is now showing as temporary block in YONO, and I am unable to make any transactions.
I have already mailed the bank about this issue. On Monday, I will also send someone to the branch to get it resolved, since customer care informed me they cannot unblock the card over the phone and that a branch visit is required.
This is wonderful news. Any idea about forex charges on this card (and atm withdrawal fee)?
I'm still trying to add this card to Grab app etc. and it's failing on my end.
Damn. So how expensive was the coffee or does sbi verify each forex txns?

Regarding forex charge i think its not their. I withdraw 100RM and from my account it deducted 2066. And what i saw today 100 ringit value is rs2088. And regarding internation transaction track i think they verify for your first transaction and if u picked the call and verify it. They will not bother later. For my case network was not there and even i did not know about this. Once i got the network i received message 2 miss call from SBI.

My experience
After insisting a lot, the agent told me to wrote card variant on the front , I've also written code. And signed me on a blank deposit cheque or something with 354 charges.
As I told card has 399+gst charge, he told you will be charged whatever they shows on your AC.
I didn't wait as there was already more than 10 applications..
Let's see tomorrow

I have SBI savings account since 2016. I had SBI global debit card and Virtual debit card while applying for RPP. They charged me Rs. 354 only.
May be I was charged a card replacement fee only
It's card replacement charge not the joining fee.
If we want to avoid this charge then block your existing physical debit card before submitting the application.

Yeah, I did block my SBI global debit card but forgot to dop that for virtual DC, so they charged me

Pretty hypocritical, still not charged though
SBI never misses a chance to charge customer
