I wanted to check if anyone else has faced this issue with SBI debit card reward points.
Last month, I paid my credit card bill using Paytm and noticed that no reward points were credited. Thinking it was due to using Paytm, I tried again last week using SBI Unipay (both virtual and physical RuPay debit card). Still no points credited.
I’m already registered on the SBI Rewardz portal last week and also using the Rewards app to track points. But nothing is showing up for these transactions.
I even reached out to SBI customer care, and they told me that any transaction made through a third-party app—including SBI Unipay—does not accrue reward points.
However, I have also seen people discussing here that they received reward points within hours of making such payments. So now I’m confused if it’s blocked for everyone or if it depends on card type, platform, or something else.
Has anyone here been able to earn reward points on debit card spends via Unipay or other apps for paying CC bills? Or are reward points restricted only to direct POS/online merchant spends?
Would appreciate your inputs/experiences.
