Renewal membership fee charged after card closure request is raised

Hello guys,

I have raised HDFC Tata neu card closure on 27Aug’25 through HDFC My cards App online and received a message that card closure will be processed in 7days subjected to no outstanding dues.

Yesterday(03/sep) received a message that sms and mail stating that card closure not processed due to outstanding dues..

When I raised the request there was no outstanding dues- Looks like HDFC charged card renewal fees on 28/Aug - close to ₹600

Is it worth taking up the issue with HDFC- will they reverse the fees , since my cards App online closure request raised before renewal due- Requesting your suggestions..

If it is waste of time, will pay the fees and raise card closure request again

Don't raise card closure requests one or two days before renewal. Always do it at least 2 weeks before anniversary or at least a month before.

Also have some amount like 10rs as outstanding else it will be
