Regalia to Infinia upgrade

navonline7

TF Premier
I have a Regalia LTF card that I want to upgrade to Infinia. The credit limit on the Regalia card is around 15 lakhs. Since I already fulfill the credit limit criterion, I plan to spend 10+ lakhs in 6 months.

My questions:
  • Are school fees and jewellery spends considered for the 10+ lakhs criterion?
  • Will I get base rewards for school fees and jewellery spends?

Oh got it. Is Atlas better compared to Infinia? Nowadays I feel I am giving a lot on processing fee just accure the points.
Looks like but we are also aware of axis unethical behaviour of blocking cards due to heavy usage etc and giving full details of transaction.

Jitna nirmala tai khojti hai usse 10 guna ye dhundhta hai bc

Have a salary account with them for close to three years now. Per my calculations, I might be losing around 8-10k, which I'm fine with. Do you think I should spend the remaining money and hit the 9 lakhs milestone and give it a shot? Just worried about the Imperia status and AMB, which I don't have.

If I were you, I would have tried it. I would take the risk of 8-10k loss than leaving the opportunity and wondering if I could ever have infinia.
No one has been denied infinia for the reasons of Amb or Imperia status but then yes, all the speculations of AMB or Imperia status coming into picture might be true as well.
For the mail that you have sent to HDFC, you might just get a generic reply saying it is based on internal evaluation.

Could you please elaborate more on losses and gain !
Hope you got your answer.
I have Atlas. Some of my spends on Regalia to reach 9L would be on gold. So, I don't stand to lose anything at least on the gold transaction by not using Atlas. Regalia gives RPs for gold transactions, Atlas doesn't. I will be at a loss for other transactions where I can earn a much better reward rate using Atlas.

Will continue spending and give it a shot

Any idea if there's a cibil hit when the application is processed via offline mode?

Background
I sent an email to grievance on 6th July to check the criteria for Inifinia upgrade as there's this new Imperia criteria (not a upgrade request). Meanwhile, I spent 9L and opted for offline processing through someone from HDFC on 11 July. I signed the upgrade form and he dispatched it to Chennai on the same day.

Got a message from HDFC today evening saying my application has been processed. When I check the status, it says "Declined". When I checked with the HDFC person, he was a little surpised at the speed at which my upgrade request was picked up for processing by the Chennai team. He couldn't confirm anything though as he had left office for the day and said would get back to me tomorrow.

I'm now suspecting that the grievance team might have processed my upgrade request looking at the spends based on my email on 6th July, but for some reason it got declined. Not sure what to make of this entire saga.

If you satisfy the criteria, then there will not be any cibil hit, if you have to submit any docs then they will check cibil.

The status isn't fixed on hdfc portal, we have many experiences where users having declined status got later on approved status and also got the card.

There is no way to know that based on what they have evaluated in your case. You would have to keep following up with that offline guy and let us know how it goes.
In my case, I had even waited for the bill to generate for all my spendings and then I had sent the email for upgrade. I had read in one of the cases that those dumb people didn't even check the unbilled transactions.
