Axis Atlas Queries on International travel ticket using Axis ATLAS

TF Select
I am planning to book international travel ticket from Lufthansa airline website. I am thinking to use Axis ATLAS credit card because it gives 5 Edge Miles for every 100 Rs on travel related expenses. I am having below queries because this will be my first international airline booking via ATLAS card.

  1. As Lufthansa is company from Europe, so should I buy ticket in Euro or INR? If I buy in INR, I think dynamic currency charges will be there but I am not sure.
  2. Do we get 5 Edge Miles per 100 Rs if we buy airline tickets from different currency?
  3. Should I buy ticket from Travel Edge instead of buying from direct airline?
  4. Is it worth to buy international flight ticket using ATLAS card after considering Forex markup and other charges? How much return should I expect?
Please help me with these queries if you are aware about it. Thanks in advance.

Axis bank are unpredictable. They have mood swings always.

Just wanted to update on my queries. After your positive feedback on using ATLAS card for international travel website, I booked ticket with ATLAS card and I got 5x Edge miles as per card's reward structure. I booked ticket in INR currency and till now I am not charged with any dynamic currency conversion fee. I will update this thread if I will be charged that fee during my statement generation.

Thank you all for your feedback.

did you get charged forex fee of dcc???

Update on 19.06.2025 - For folks who might be looking for this specific answer. On 16.06.2025 I booked JAL flights from BLR to NRT and return from OSAKA-BLR using my Axis Atlas on JAL's official website. The currency was showing in INR. I got the exact amt charged on my CC that was shown on the JAL payment page. No markup or DCC (atleast till now). Statement got generated on 18.06.2025 and no additional charges. And I got 5x miles as well since now Axis looks at the "category" of spends rather than "mcc" codes.

Hey Guys, I need to book internal flight tickets for my UK & Ireland trip and was looking to book British Airways and Aer Lingus and having Infinia & Atlas

Compared the prices on multiple websites and each has its own issues
TravelEdge : Insanely high prices compared to Airlines website/any other OTA especially for Aer Lingus, almost charging double

SmartBuy : Doesn’t have any fare options so directly missing on any check in baggage allowances

Official Websites : Best prices but with Atlas would be paying around 4.3% forex+GST, net returns would still be positive.

*For both BA and Aer Lingus no option to select INR as currency as flights are not originating in India.

So shall I go with official website? Or any other tips/tricks?
