Why this though? Why don’t they just straightaway apply 5% cashback instead of 1% + 4%? Doesn’t make much sense to me lol

1 % + 4% will be less than 5% often (Depending on the amount)
also 1% and 4% is rounded off before addition

If you need SimplyClick for instant discount then you have to wait for 90 days from the last SBI card issuance.

Yep. Paytm SBI and SBI Cashback is not gonna work for instant discounts.

If one can stay above 2L spend, then SBI cb is the best for NOW as not all can wait for sales. Flight bookings, hotel, train bookings n any random websites

The process takes time so meantime u will complete 6 months in bpcl

for bill pay its 1% however if used to buy GV and load in amazon then bill pay one can get 5% cb

Its not updated I guess, just says your inperson verification has been scheduled

As a new entrant my query on Cashback percentage, if I pay utility bills through Amazon pay platform, using SBI Cashback card. Will it be 1% or 5%.

It will be 1% so better to buy a amazon GC(5% Cashback ) and then pay via Apay.

Adding this for a general info, discussions can be done with good intention:

The total cashback earned on the credit card is also taxable if the amount on all your cards is equal to or greater than ₹50K as per Section 56(2)(x) of the Income-tax Act. You need to report it under the head ‘Income from Other Sources’ or ‘Profits and Gains from Business or Profession’, as the case may be.

Much impact for ppl who are already in 30% IT slab.
As per my enquiry with a CA even though we show it in IT filing SBI have all rights to send our PAN with our claimed CB to IT dept later date.
