Need help to redeem reward points/airmiles from BLR to LHR

Hi Travel Gurus,

Need help to find best possible ways to redeem reward points/airmiles from BLR to LHR travelling in 'Premium Economy' class targeted end of this month.

1. HDFC Smartbuy shows below price on 24th Jun for direct flights:
If i use this portal, will redeem 39,156 infinia reward points (70%) and 16,781 /- by card (30%), which will give another 2,768 reward points (16.5%) using 5x program.
so actual spend will be 16,781-2,768 = 14,013 /-



2. seats.aero shows 33,000 points + £93.10 GBP Book via Virgin Atlantic
This way i just need to pay £93.10 GBP = INR 10k but problem is there is no direct points transfer from hdfc infinia to Virgin Atlantic



Apart from Infinia, i've Axis Atlas too but can't find Virgin Atlantic as transfer partner.
Any help on how to find any other cheaper methods would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can do Marriott to VA at 3:1, if you want to use Axis. HDFC also have got Marriott. Per 60k pts you’ll get 5k pts extra. So that 25k VA pts for each 60k MB pts.

Thanks!, will explore AMEX option, but surprised that seats.aero does not cover both air india or british airways miles program, so only option (direct, cheap) left this if travelling to UK.

You can always manually search. These apps aren’t 100% reliable.

You can transfer points using American Express cards for 2:1 points. Additionally, you can search for the best flight deals by using Virgin Atlantic’s Reward Seat Checker.

The offer you have received is not particularly favorable. In July, for example, it is possible to book an Upper Class (business class) flight for 29,000 points plus taxes, rather than 33,000 points plus taxes.




You can also purchase Virgin Points directly through their portal. For an economy booking, 12,000 points are required, as shown in the screenshot above. These points can be bought for approximately £180 (around ₹21,000).


Let me dive deep into this and find more options.
