I’m new to optimizing credit card rewards and could use some advice.
Here’s my situation:
Back in August 2024, I got the HDFC Infinia card. Around the same time, I enrolled in a Malabar Gold scheme with a ₹40,000 monthly EMI, which I was paying online/offline using Infinia, earning ~3.3% reward points.
Later, I joined TechnoFino and learned I could buy Amazon gift cards to pay Malabar, getting ~12% reward rate (after processing fees) with Infinia. Problem is, Infinia on SmartBuy has a ₹10,000 monthly limit for Amazon gift cards, and my Malabar EMI is ₹40,000, so I couldn’t fully utilize this benefit.
To cover more, I started buying ₹10,000 Amazon gift cards with my Amex card as well, but I still couldn’t hit ₹40,000 because I ended up using the vouchers for gas bookings, Jio recharges, and other stuff.
I read on a TechnoFino thread that you can use different mobile numbers on GyFTR to buy ₹10,000 Amazon gift cards per number per month so last Saturday night I created a GyFTR ID with my second mobile number and bought ₹10,000 Amazon gift cards.
Created another GyFTR ID with a third number and bought ₹8,000 Amazon gift cards and paid Malabar with Amazon Pay.
Now, here’s where I’m confused:
1. Will I get reward points for these transactions? I’m not sure if using multiple mobile numbers on GyFTR is allowed or if it’ll affect my rewards.
2. Is this strategy legal/allowed?
I don’t want to get in trouble with HDFC or GyFTR for using multiple numbers.
3. My wife has an Infinia add-on card, but since it shares the same card number, I assume I can’t use it to buy more Amazon gift cards. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Another issue: I got the BizBlack floater but I’m not sure how to use it effectively. I already have GST input credit of over ₹8 lakhs(Individual GST), so I don’t know if I can use BizBlack to pay GST for my company in which I’m the Director, and still earn rewards. Are there other ways to maximize BizBlack for the 7,500 reward points?
I can’t cover ₹50,000 per month on insurance payments.
Would love to hear your thoughts, especially from those who’ve navigated similar situations with Infinia/BizBlack or GyFTR.
Thanks for the help!
