I wanted to share a rather frustrating saga I went through with IndusInd Bank regarding my IndusInd Select debit cards. For a whopping 20 days straight, starting in early November 2024, my cards were completely useless for any online transactions. Talk about inconvenience! I tried everything imaginable – different e-commerce sites, various payment gateways, even different browsers, but every single transaction failed.

Their customer service was, to put it mildly, a complete black hole. The IVR system was consistently down, leading to endless waiting and dropped calls. My emails detailing the issue were met with canned responses, repeatedly asking for screenshots (which I diligently sent multiple times!). It felt like they weren't even reading my actual complaint. The issue was eventually resolved on November 25th after persistent follow-ups.

Following this ordeal, on November 27th, 2024, I formally lodged a complaint with their nodal officer, seeking a modest compensation of ₹15,000 for the significant disruption and wasted time. This is where the real silence began. Despite monthly follow-ups and clearly stating my intention to escalate to the RBI Ombudsman, my emails were seemingly ignored. I even sent a final ultimatum in March 2025, setting a 7-day deadline for a response. Crickets.

The turning point came only after I officially filed a complaint with the RBI Ombudsman. It was then, and only then, that I finally received a call from IndusInd Bank. And after five long months from my initial complaint, I finally received the exact ₹15,000 I had originally requested directly from the bank. It's crystal clear that it took the RBI's intervention to get them to act.

While I've received the initial compensation I asked for, the sheer length of time it took and the complete disregard for my direct communications is frankly appalling. I am still considering pursuing further compensation for the significant inconvenience, wasted time, and frankly, the mental stress of being ignored for months.

This whole experience underscores the importance of not giving up and escalating issues to the regulatory authorities when banks fail to address genuine grievances. Has anyone else in the community faced such prolonged and unresponsive service from banks? I'd be interested to hear your experiences and thoughts on this.
