I opened my 811 Super Savings Account (ending XXXX) in July 2025 with the required ₹81,100 deposit, based on the clear promise on your website (Infinity Metal Debit Card page, June 2025 - https://www.kotak811.com/debit-cards/infinity-metal-debit-card ) that:
However, today (29-08-2025), I received an email from Kotak titled “Important changes related to your Kotak811 Account” stating that effective Oct 2025:
- Issuance fee ₹4,999 → Waived with 811 Super.
- Annual fee ₹999 → Waived with 811 Super.
- Only charge applicable: Super 811 annual fee ₹399 (per June 2025 GSFC).
- Super 811 + Normal Debit Card = ₹399 annually
- Super 811 + Infinity Metal Debit Card = ₹999 annually
This is nothing but a backdoor reintroduction of the ₹999 fee that was explicitly promised as waived, and it directly contradicts the terms communicated when I opened my account.

I seek resolution on the following:
- Mis-selling – I was induced to deposit ₹81k based on the “zero annual fee” assurance.
- Discriminatory – Metal DC holders are penalized with ₹600 more annually than other Super 811 customers.
- Unfair practice – Terms at the time of account opening are being retroactively altered.
If not resolved, I will be constrained to escalate this matter under the RBI Integrated Ombudsman Scheme for mis-selling and unfair fee practices.
- Reinstate the waiver for existing Metal DC customers who joined under the earlier offer.
- Provide written confirmation that no hidden/restructured charges will be imposed going forward.

They did the metal card holders very badAs per the new TnC
1. 10k monthly credit is needed to maintain super program.
2. Does not mention that issuance fee is waived off on 81.1k funding. Just says - if opted for metal card with 81.1k funding, then super program fee is 999. I assume that next year, those who has metal card will gave to pay 999.
3. Annual fee of metal card is "waived off". But since super is 999, effective annual fee of card will be 600.
I'll also complain, since we agreed on 399.

I have to confirm this metal card extra charge. The TnC sentence framing is a bit confusing. Grammar or spelling mistakes 🤷.
A doubt I have is that if they meant 999 is only for first year. If so, then I don't think any complaint to Kotak or RBI will be valid since they're revising the terms for new users.
Idk if calling customer care will be of any use.
