Devaluation KIWI revised rewards and excluded lot of mcc from 1st June 25

Theoretically everything is fine...The devil lies in the finer details. For all transactions between X50 and X99, you will lose 5% rewards....On paper, reward is 5% but Your net reward ratio will reduce drastically after devaluation...It will be beneficial if you can spend around 200000 in a year.

Pull out last 10 transactions of your spend and calculate how many kiwis you received and how many you will receive after the devaluation. & find out the LOSS
Yes I do understand this devaluation. Most ccs I own have such rules. Eg hdfc infinia does in multiples of 150, sbi CB 100. I can live with this reduced profit, I am glad this wasn’t there till date and the next best option on upi rupay is probably Tata neu giving 1.5% via their slow Tata neu app.

My question was what else was changed?
Eg. I would call it a major devaluation if the 5% kiwis couldn’t be transferred to bank and had to be used for shitty rewards like most other ccs.
Or maybe some regularly used mccs was added to the exclusions.

My understanding is that the 2% base reward for Neon is impacted by this change i.e. if I make a purchase for 150, now I will only get rewarded for 100 which means my reward rate drops from 2% to 1.3% for this transaction.

However in case of milestone, I hope this will be covered. So let's say my net base reward I get is 1.3% for first 50000 milestone, I expect Kiwi to simply take the difference i.e. (3%-1.3%) on entire 50k and provide a cashback of 850 (1.7% of 50k).

If this is the case people just hitting milestones do not loose anything but those who exceed milestones might be impacted. Is my understanding correct?

As i understand, it will not be like that....Earlier even online amount was included for milestone calculation. Now, they clearly mentioned that they will only consider multiple of 100's for rewards

In short, if you spend 189 Rs, you will get kiwis for 100 and only 100 Rs will be considered for milestone.

Just inquisitively asking, now that for this 189 kiwi will give only 5 ₹ (2.6% in this case), whats can replace kiwi for such txns for better profits?

Generally 2% works, I think we will continue getting same on amount of Rs.100 multiples
Ha thats fine. On spending 189, will get 2 ₹ now and worst case 3 ₹ latter on, which will be 2.6%. Unless they count in whole sums for milestones, in such case the reward rate on 189 ₹ txn will be way more.

But my query is which other cards provides better rates on upi vi rupay cc. I mean since this is getting devaluated and many are asking others to leave kiwi. They must be thinking of something more profitable. Just would love to know about any alternatives with better rewards.

Adjust 999+gst....2.6% will become less than 2% in highest 5% slab....that is why i mentioned that it is only beneficial if u spend 2 lakh +

Some people are looking around super card pro

This 5% u will get after upi spend of 1.5L till year end ?

How this works exactly ?
there are 3 milestones. 50k -> 1L -> 1.5L
So when you hit the 50k milestone, after a month for all the past txns you will get the 1% extra adjusted. 500 ₹ worth kiwi will get added instantly for the past 50k.
After that 3% worth kiwi will be credited till 1L, when 1k more kiwi will be given to adjust the past spends.
So on till you get 7.5k worth kiwi in a year in this way. 5% of 1.5L is 7.5k.

Also on all milestones a lounge access is unlocked.

Do note even today kiwi neon is free if kiwi is enabled by referral.

I am switching back to credit card...in my case, in metro city, i can replace 90% upi transaction with credit card

Mdr structure of rupay will bleed these fintech...mark my words, kiwi will be further devalued by year end....to make money, fintech cannot provide more than 0.5% reward on rupay network....they have tremendous pressure from investors to become profitable.

Save my message...kiwi will be further devalued before year end

Ok understood.

I got kiwi acc, but not added any bank acc and cc into it yet. So not 100% about the neon program if i have it or not.

Cc was rejected cause their system says i already had yes bank cc. But it was closed. So emailing going on. They say i can reapply after 1 month. Already past that but still kiwi app showing old cc application rejected.

Got fyf hdfc tata infinity, but i did not activate it yet. Cause i dont use any tata products, so hard for me to use those tata neu points later which will be 1.5%. Its same Rs100 minimum. Now kiwi is also same.

So im just waiting on kiwi cc, and i will close tata neu.

I got axis indian oil rupay cc as well.

Now im confuse which one to start using.

Agreed Agreed. Never for a second thought kiwi to last for a long time.
But make hay while the sun shines bro!

It's still the most profitable method for offline spends as of date, with the least headache. Even if it lasts full for this year, I will be more than happy.

Also second thoughts, if other cc's charges 999 for the card and can give 5k cashback for a month for online txns, making max CB 60k/ yr. I can't see why another player can't give 7.5k. In both cases most misused Mccs are already blocked, hence mostly genuine spends will be there.

If you didn't take the kiwi via any referral, then most probably you don't have neon program for free. Explore a bit in app.. you will notice.

If you think you won't be spending much via rupay on upi (not 1L+), then I doubt if kiwi neon will be even beneficial for you.
However if you feel 1.5L is doable for the year, even a paid neon sub might be worth it.

For the past few months this is my go to card for offline txns, previously a spot hold by infinia. Now infinia comes out when the category is excluded in kiwi. But reaching the milestone won't be a big ask as I easily use this on my trips or on offline shopping, when the spends are more. eg. hotel/ small restro spends.

Without neon membership, and 1.5L requirement, kiwi cc still gives 2% cb yes ?

Hdfc tata neu infinity gives 1.5%. So kiwi is giving more return yes ? Im just confirming.

Not sure i will be using 1.5L in a year. I got magnus and emeralde pvc for many other things.

I just want a rupay cc for upi spend of 100 to 300 daily, which can give more % back.

Ok found it. This is the new exclusion which has been sneaked in

@Kiranonlinee or any mod please update the first post if possible.

This doesn't affect my usage, but I guess was being used majorly for them to take notice.

Na, only 1.5% without Neon.
Kiwi is not at all worth it without neon. Just pass it.
However kiwi rewards is cash, hence are better than neucoins. And any day kiwi app is better than the bloated tata neu app, only tata neu app gives 1.5% for upi usage of tata neu infinity cc.
