I have closed my indusind card on October... But to check whether my card is closed or not... I made payment of 5 rs in January it got successfull... When I asked indusind customer care they said that u can make payments even to the closed credit card.... I have a doubt if card is closed means how can we able to make payments to that closed credit card account..

Is it really possible to make payment to closed credit card??

Yes it is possible in indusind only.

My card was closed and after 3 months I paid some amount and it was successful.

Thereafter maybe 6 months later got another statement of card debiting that amount and making card outstanding to 0.

Ya there agents arguing with me they said that It is possible to make payments to closed credit cards.. even there highest desks also don't have minimum basic knowledge... They also saying same u can make payments to closed credit card... And they are saying it is possible in all banks.. even though iam saying I already tried with other bank iam not able to make payments... They are still arguing every bank has different policies in indusind it is possible u can make payments to completely closed credit card...

Payment to closed cards can be made upto 30 days from card closure and it will settle in new card. After that it will be refunded.

All banks follow these process. My card on upgrading in 2020 was transferred by HDFC from old card to new card (Regalia to Millennia) and I can still make payment to it (regalia card number) and it settles in my current card (millennia). It (Regalia) shows in inactive list of CC but not available in credit reports.

Can you name the list of banks that follow these procedures?
Almost all banks, it is written on their MITC.

Sometimes banks might charge you fees/txn involving merchant dispute/or anything like that even on close cards.

Sometimes, you have have to return items or anything that involves refund on the closed card. How will that refund be processed?

For these scenarios, banks generally allow credit transactions even on closed cards.

Yes, we can make payments to closed card as well.

Charges can also be applied to closed cards, and you will have to pay those dues to the same card.

Refunds are also processed for closed cards.
First time hearing this... They will not allow to close the card if there is any outstanding present... If card closed after zero outstanding means how can they apply charges ??

Firstly the most important thing is banks never ever close cards with outstanding and after that they lock the account for further payments.

Then you only can receive the reversal of transaction payments in closed card account, that you again can get it via help of customer care to your bank accounts.

and as @Piyush said we can get charged after card closure.

I never heard anyone from anybank that they got charged for closed card.

As far I knew they will not let you close the card if you have filed any dispute

Whenever the bank identifies any discrepancy, they can apply charges and will send you bill. They can apply charges even after years. You will have to pay it. It's written in their MITC
