IRCTC tour package Vs self planning

Hello everyone,

I just want to check with all of you, which method will be better for domestic trips... I can see so many tour packages with IRCTC & other service providers. By taking the information from their Itinerary, planning and booking ourselves will be better or booking a package with them?? Mostly their package includes travelling costs and Hotel costs..

Air Tickets (Hyderabad – Chandigarh– Hyderabad). 2 Night Shimla, 1 Night Dharamshala, 2 Nights Dalhousie, 1 Night Amritsar, 1 Night Chandigarh. 7 Breakfast, 7 Dinner AC Tempo Traveler for sightseeing as per the itinerary. Travel Insurance. IRCTC’s Tour Escort services during tour. All applicable taxes for the above services.

Lunch and any additional food service of all days. Local transport/airport pick up and drop in Hyderabad. Meals on Flight. Entry Tickets, Darshan Tickets at sightseeing places or temples All kinds of tips to drivers, guides, representative, etc. Any expenses of personal nature such as laundry expenses, wine, mineral water, food and drinks other than mentioned in the regular menu. Let me know your opinion in terms of Expenses, Experience and Risk free environment...

Ideally speaking, planning by self will always cost less (or more based on your preferences) as the middle man is cut
But you may also have to take the money vs time cost benefit analysis as you will have to plan everything yourself - which places, hotels, transportation, sight seeing, food etc

If you have the time and willingness, it would be better
If not, the experience with service providers should be okayish only

IRCTC tour of pilgrimage is good for elderly.not for us .bcz we are young & plan better
