Let me tell you a legendary story…

Once upon a time, I proudly held an IDFC credit card with ₹80,000 limit.
Not just that — I’m also a Wealth Account holder. 💼💳
For 2 years, I politely requested a limit increase submitted salary slips, bank statements, perfect repayment history still, the same copy-paste reply every time:
"Not eligible at the moment." 😑

Then one day, I had an idea:
"If you won’t increase it, then I’ll decrease it!" 😎
So, just for fun, I requested my limit to be reduced to ₹1000.

And IDFC said YES. 😂👏
No questions asked — ₹1000 approved.
Even samosa with chai cries seeing this limit. ☕️🥲

But the legend doesn’t stop there…
Now I’ve requested them to reduce it to ₹100.
Let’s see if IDFC can break their own record. 🥇

Seems like you are having fun.

Let me tell my story with IDFC.

I’ve been with IDFC for about 4 years, starting with the Millennia card at a ₹60K limit. Despite holding other cards with limits as high as ₹2.8L, IDFC didn’t offer any enhancement for 2 full years. Eventually, I had to send income documents to push for a limit increase, after which they raised it to ₹1.1L. Since then, they’ve been increasing the limit by just around 10% every 6 months. It’s currently at ₹1.4L, and at this rate, it might take them years to offer a meaningful upgrade.

In my experience, IDFC has been one of the most disappointing banks to deal with. I’ve kept the card only for occasional sale offers. If you already have better cards, you’re probably better off closing this one and reapplying after 6 months—you might have a better chance at a decent limit or product upgrade that way.

Both of your stories reminded me of...Maharaja Jai Singh Prabhakar of Alwar...

The story goes that he was insulted by a Rolls Royce showroom staff in London, who judged him based on his appearance, mistaking him for someone unable to afford their cars. In retaliation, the Maharaja purchased several Rolls Royce cars, not to drive them, but to use them as garbage trucks in his kingdom. This act of defiance is said to have damaged the luxury car maker's reputation and led to an apology and offers of free cars from Rolls Royce.

for your reference...

Lesson is u shud not talk to customer care with sarcasm. They are not intelligent enough to understand that.

Seems like you are having fun.

IDFC offered me a ₹1000 credit limit metal card with ₹3000+GST fees.
I guess the real metal is the irony. 🤣🤣😂😂
