IDFC First Private advantage

The fee is high, but here’s why it makes sense now. You get 1L bonus points plus hotel memberships like Accor and ITC. When redeemed for travel, the 1L points = ₹1L in value (₹1 per point), covering the ₹59K fee and more—total value can go up to ₹1.25L+.
The base earn rate itself is 10 points/₹150. For travel, it’s 60 points/₹150 on hotels and 30/₹150 on flights—equivalent to 40% and 20% reward rates. Even regular spending gives 6.67% back on travel redemptions, which is excellent.
Yeah but that’s too many points. Miles enthusiasts use miles for a reason. One can use miles to get business class tickets at a much better conversion rate. And it’s a lot of points so no use for someone who doesn’t travel internationally atleast 1-2 times a year.

Yes that’s right. This card made sense after its revaluation and majorly for travel that’s where the max value kicks in. Even if a person travels once in a year or two, it’s still ok as IDFC points never expire so can always be used whenever the person has plans. Else the one needs to content with 25p per point value.

Btw, welcome benefit is 50k not 1L points (I cross checked with their CC), they might have reduced from 1L earlier post its revaluation

What would be equivalent cost of flights can be booked via welcome benefit points?

So the first private upgrade status is not as easy as it looks. My private still is still being in process even after having a crore in sa. Today my bm called me and said finally he is sending an email for update. In the email he says as discussed with me he is expecting 3cr trv by next quarter.
I asked him to not to set this expectation but he says nothing will happen, this is just for formality.
Do this email in any case have boundations on me. What should i reply to safeguard myself or I'm thinking too much.

You are thinking too much. You are not signing a contract, just that in the worst case they may downgrade it back to Wealth...and that too is very unlikely because for Private they need approvals from Pvt. mkting head, Country head etc.
I received Private status recently, I'm still trying to understand what's so great in that apart from a very good metal debit card that comes in a fancy box and gives you 2 points extra/150.
