ICICI Bank iShop Accelerated Reward Points Portal Launched - Upto 36% Reward Rate 🔥

As promised by ICICI Bank at the time of launching the Emeralde Private Metal Card and Times Black Card, they have introduced their Accelerated Rewards Portal, iShop by ICICI Bank. Through this portal, ICICI Bank cardholders can earn accelerated rewards when purchasing gift vouchers, booking flights, and reserving hotels.

The portal is similar to HDFC Bank’s SmartBuy for HDFC customers. However, ICICI Bank also offers accelerated rewards to its debit card and net banking customers, even if they don't have an ICICI credit card. The portal appears to be in beta testing, as ICICI Bank has added a "Beta" tag to the iShop logo. So, expect changes in rules and capping.

Let's dive into the details of this portal!

Reward Earning on iShop Portal

Credit Cards & Debit Cards:
  • 6X Reward Points on Flight Bookings & Shopping Vouchers
  • 12X Reward Points on Hotels
  • 4% Cashback for co-branded ICICI cards
Net Banking Customers:
  • 3% iCash on Flight Bookings
  • 6% iCash on Hotels
  • NA% iCash on Shopping Vouchers

Redemption on iShop Portal

You can redeem your credit card reward points on the iShop portal.

The value of credit and debit card reward points depends on the card you hold. For example, with the ICICI Bank Emeralde Private Metal Credit Card, 1 reward point = ₹1.

Redemption Options:

  • Flight Booking: You can pay 100% of the order value using reward points.
  • Hotel Booking: You can pay 90% of the order value using reward points, and the remaining 10% must be paid using the same credit card.
  • Shopping Vouchers: You can pay 50% of the order value using reward points, with the rest paid via card.

For Net Banking Customers:

  • Instead of reward points, Net Banking Customers receive iCash from iShop (1 iCash = ₹1).
  • For flights, hotels, and gift vouchers, you can use a maximum of 80% iCash, and the remaining 20% must be paid via net banking.

This is an amazing launch from ICICI Bank. ICICI Bank has often been tagged as a low-rewarding credit card issuer, but with this portal launch, customers can now earn significant bonus reward points using their ICICI Bank credit cards. This is a great way to revamp the bank's credit card portfolio.

One key expectation from ICICI Bank is that they should enter the airmiles game as soon as possible. According to some sources, they are already working on it. They are also aiming to launch a hotel co-branded credit card soon.

Has anyone here not received accelerated points even after 90 days?

and the accelerated points which come after 90 days does it count in that month capping or in the month it was spent?

Updating my experience with joining benefits. Received mails from ICICI Bank yesterday regarding Taj Epicure, EazyDiner and 12,500 RP. Got my card around 24th April. Joining fees charged to card but payment not done yet (statement yet to be generated).

Looks like ICICI is streamlining the process quickly. Unlike some initial users who had to wait for 2-3 months, the process now looks smooth.
Did you reach out to them for this? Because I got the card on Apr 17, bill has been generated now with the fee (not paid yet) but haven't received anything on the joining benefits yet

When points get added to total of reward points post statement generated. Earlier I noticed points for any statement were getting added to balance after 3-4 days of statement. This time statement was generated on 19th but that statement points are still not added to balance yet.

I got more points credited today morning. Hmmm, this is my theory on point credits based on my past experience. It can vary for others. Please pitch in if it does.

Point credits are done in bulk every 10 days. 10th, 20th and 30th of the month.
Accelerated points until 10 days prior and Base points until 2 days prior would get credited.

Example:
Lets say you are in May 30th, you would see new points getting credited. (View CVV method mentioned in the earlier posts)
1. Accelerated points until May 20th should get credited.
2. Base reward points until May 28th should get credited (Usually takes a day for Base points to credit, so gauging from that).

Joining Fee will take 45 days from the date of your first bill payment (I still did not get it.)

All is good.
But in my case, I see only accelerated points in CVV, exactly after 10 days of transaction. Not necessarily on 10th, 20th, 30th.
Dont see any base points in CVV.

Maybe the points transfer would become faster, going forward, due to launch of iShop.

I can't see accelerated RPs anywhere... cvv/ishop/nowhere.. Do they start becoming visible after first statement generation?

Hmm, I did not do any TXN on May 20th.

Also I have had all points mentioned in the statement credited in the view CVV method. (as per my calculation that has had base and accelrated). Now that you mentioned base points are not showing, I am wondering where are they showing up for you. I feel that base rewards are removed for me as well becuase the calculations dont match anymore.

I have made all transactions on May.
I have had my statement on May 18th.

So for me, is "Earned during Month" over and top of "Opening Balance"?
Or the "Earned during Month" includes "Opening Balance"?

Appreciate your help

Opening Balance is the points that were transferred to your card account on bill generation on 18th May. This includes both base and accelerated.
Earned during the month is the accelerated points on the iShop transaction done after 18th May.
