ICICI Bank iShop Accelerated Reward Points Portal Launched - Upto 36% Reward Rate 🔥

As promised by ICICI Bank at the time of launching the Emeralde Private Metal Card and Times Black Card, they have introduced their Accelerated Rewards Portal, iShop by ICICI Bank. Through this portal, ICICI Bank cardholders can earn accelerated rewards when purchasing gift vouchers, booking flights, and reserving hotels.

The portal is similar to HDFC Bank’s SmartBuy for HDFC customers. However, ICICI Bank also offers accelerated rewards to its debit card and net banking customers, even if they don't have an ICICI credit card. The portal appears to be in beta testing, as ICICI Bank has added a "Beta" tag to the iShop logo. So, expect changes in rules and capping.

Let's dive into the details of this portal!

Reward Earning on iShop Portal

Credit Cards & Debit Cards:
  • 6X Reward Points on Flight Bookings & Shopping Vouchers
  • 12X Reward Points on Hotels
  • 4% Cashback for co-branded ICICI cards
Net Banking Customers:
  • 3% iCash on Flight Bookings
  • 6% iCash on Hotels
  • NA% iCash on Shopping Vouchers

Redemption on iShop Portal

You can redeem your credit card reward points on the iShop portal.

The value of credit and debit card reward points depends on the card you hold. For example, with the ICICI Bank Emeralde Private Metal Credit Card, 1 reward point = ₹1.

Redemption Options:

  • Flight Booking: You can pay 100% of the order value using reward points.
  • Hotel Booking: You can pay 90% of the order value using reward points, and the remaining 10% must be paid using the same credit card.
  • Shopping Vouchers: You can pay 50% of the order value using reward points, with the rest paid via card.

For Net Banking Customers:

  • Instead of reward points, Net Banking Customers receive iCash from iShop (1 iCash = ₹1).
  • For flights, hotels, and gift vouchers, you can use a maximum of 80% iCash, and the remaining 20% must be paid via net banking.

This is an amazing launch from ICICI Bank. ICICI Bank has often been tagged as a low-rewarding credit card issuer, but with this portal launch, customers can now earn significant bonus reward points using their ICICI Bank credit cards. This is a great way to revamp the bank's credit card portfolio.

One key expectation from ICICI Bank is that they should enter the airmiles game as soon as possible. According to some sources, they are already working on it. They are also aiming to launch a hotel co-branded credit card soon.

Well, then it’s time to upgrade to Wealth Management. One more question, though: I am on iOS, and the new interface is orange (which is my favourite colour 🙂), so after upgrading, will it turn to black? I really love the new interface on iOS.
Yes it will be black, because Black is new orange. :hehe: No offence to Doland Trumpet.

No they've standardized it to orange for everyone for mobile app but nb ui will change. Orange is the new black 😂.

Can EPM points be used to purchase Amazon Pay GC on iShop? If yes, is there a capping on same?
Can someone holding EPM pls confirm?
@nikhilv0303 Yes, you can use the points earned using EPM to buy any voucher, including Amazon Pay Gift Cards.

However, that is not the best way to redeem your points. The maximum accelerated reward value of 18% (~15% for Amazon GV including convenience fee) or base reward value of 3% implicitly means that you will redeem your points where 1RP = 1Rs. That would include

- Vouchers like Apple, Tanishq, MMT etc. via the old ICICI rewards portal (you can find the link to it under the card rewards section on netbanking/app)
- Flight/hotel bookings on iShop

There are multiple options so pls read the card T&C before redeeming your points.

Thanks for confirming and letting me know of the alternate options as well!

Infinia + EPM = does it make sense, if there is no way to hit annual spends on both combined, but might be able to hit on one
Makes Hell lot of sense if you have the right kind of usage and you know how to use both of them effectively. Doesn’t make sense otherwise.
Don’t forget their fees are largely compensated with welcome/annual points on fee realisation.

Yes it does make sense

1. The fees is mostly compensated for
2. There are some mutually exclusive benefits like train booking in smartbuy and select vouchers in EPM
3. It provides you options in case of future devaluation in either card

I understand the voucher game decently well.. use it to max for my spends..
Flights I’ve occasional usage and use Smartbuy to burn points.
Hotels typically use Smartbuy
what other best options would be relevant for either?

Several. Not sure what would make sense to you. To me, having an EPM add-on card for my minor son is great which is otherwise not possible with Infinia. Now with HDFC discontinuing domestic lounge access on PP, EPM makes better sense here with much better domestic lounge network compared to Infinia (EPM ~69 against Infinia ~42).
Movie tickets twice 750 Rs. Cancellation refund up to 12k twice/yr. Moreover, even travel Insurance benefits on these cards are diff. whatever works for you better. With Infinia you get 12.5k points on fee realisation, with EPM 12.5k points + EasyDiner membership.
If I was not sure, I’d would at least opt for 1st year where I would get benefits worth 40-45k again the fee.
Infinia on the other hand offers better value on international transactions with GVP, better base rate, better customer service with dedicated premium line for Imperia, DCB & Infinia customers.

Should you get both the cards (assuming you are able to get both)? Answer is not really, go for the one you like unless you have spends that goes beyond vouchers limits and reward points capping.

Any idea how the daily cap of 10,000 accelerated rewards points applied? Would it be based on date or 24 hours?

If I have made some transaction for 10000 accerated rewards at 11pm today and another transaction of 8000 accelerated rewards on 1am tomorrow. Would it be effective?
