For 6 years, I’ve responsibly used basic credit cards (SBI, IDFC, HDFC, BOB, YES, etc.), maintaining a 770+ credit score, 100% on-time payments, and limits up to ₹1.1L. Yet today, despite my spotless record, but at this time my every new application—basic or premium—is rejected without explanation.
Is there something I’m missing? If anyone can guide me or help secure my desired card, I’d be deeply grateful.

It would have been better if you have shared whats mid-range for you?

For example if you consider Axis Atlas as mid range, you can get it pre-approved if you have an existing Axis card.

But it depends on what is your list of mid-range cards and what is your income, how you have tried getting them earlier and how many active accounts you already have.
Also your highest limit of 1.1L is low for getting higher end cards so maybe start with increasing it.
And 770 for 6 years seems low to me, what is your total limit and its utilisation.
A lot of information is not there to help you better.

Best kotak zen card

Looking at Indian CCs, there are either normal cc or premier cc, nothing sits in between.
Try for amex if your lifestyle has that kind of spends

my income approx 60k as a self employed. and my cibil score last i checked 777+
i have 5 Unsecured CC, 1 Secured OD, 1 Gold Loan, and 1 Unsecured personal loan.
my lower limit card is 50k and higher limit is 1.1L
my all card total combined limit is 4.5L
my spending per month 20-70k depend month on month usually average spending 20-35k and i paid bill before bill generation so my utilization ratio show my cibil report 0-5%

so i want those mid range cards like regalia gold, Axis atlas, IDFC Wealth etc for better reward and better concierge service

Please help me this matter i provide some details as you want.
My first suggestion will be to get the SBI CB first before getting any more cards.
  • Online - SBI CB, HDFC Swiggy & ICICI Apay
  • UPI - Yes/AU Kiwi, HDFC TNI LTF
  • Travel - Axis Atlas, HDFC RG
  • Utility - Airtel Axis
  • IDFC Wealth is not worth it, and it is now a basic card after all the devaluation.
Now I will need: Share either monthly or annual spending.
Pls break down your spends and requirements in the mid-range cards you are looking for.
Also, your existing cards have with limit.

example: Grocery - 2K online
Online shopping - 5K

  • SBI CB no need because i have TNI CC So upi spend 1.5% Neu coin and other spend like amazon flipkart myntra zomato i can purchased GV so i received 5% neu coin, Utility and insurance payments received 5% neu coin, tata brand shopping received 10% neu coin. 1 neu coin = 1 rupee.
  • Kiwi CC told 5% CB on Upi spend but catch is 999+GST neon Membership otherwise you get 1.5%.
  • jupiter csb edge+ told 10% on popular brand spend but 1 jupiter reward point = 0.20 paise so technically not 10% valueback its 2%

SBI CB - decouples you from hdfc/tata eco system. You can just buy anywhere online and still get 5% for the included categories.
Kiwi - depending on milestones you hit its quite rewarding. The sweet spot is 1.5L milestone hit which rewards you 4% even accounting the annual fee. See my detailed analysis here

Jupiter - gives 10% cashback (50% jewels on az, fk etc.). I bought 5K AGV it gave 2500 jewels which is 500rs ie. 10%.
