Also please get a good insurance agent. Insurance claims are a fight and you cannot hope to win it alone. Not getting an agent for a 5-10% discount is as stupid a decision as bringing a knife to a gun fight because you cheaped out.

Stupid question but how to find an agent? Will the agent be an HDFC employee or some third party? Should I visit the bank to do it?

Please stay away from the bank and bank employees at all costs. Only thing worse than buying an insurance without an agent is buying insurance from a bank employee.

You have some options:
1. Your friendly neighbourhood advisor who has gotten claims settled for someone u know
2. Names like ditto or hercules insurance or check beshak, they have a good set of insurance advisors.

Again NEVER buy from bank or bank employees. Instead give them some money as riddance if they pursue you for insurance, much cheaper.
Try to find a good agent who knows and breathes insurance. It is not difficult.
