Hi,

Hyd to HKG - I see cathay flight on Qatar website for 13000 avios. But I am not able to see the taxes since I havent transferred my points yet to Qatar.

Please can some one check and let me know how to find Qatar taxes before transfer of avios. Thanks

we could see the taxes before on the qatar app, unfortunately recently it doesn't show up anymore.

If you're okay with flying cathay, check out british airways reward flight booking, you can get a cathay flight for 15k avios + 10k cash

Usually the tax are lower in Qatar than Asia miles, in asia miles I am able to see 13000 + 550 hkg and the availability is quite good. Also I heard that Qatar shows ghost seats sometimes better to call customer care and confirm once or check in iberia or some other avios partner before you initiate the transfer

Thanks... Why I am trying Qatar over Asia miles is that - From HDFC diners, I get Qatar(via finnair) miles in the ratio 1:1. However asia miles ratio is 2:1.
As you said It looks like cathay pacific seats availability is very good when compared with Qatar.

I will compare (miles+taxes) in cathay and BA and go ahead. Thanks.

You can do this then, you can transfer to qatar anyways, and then you can decide if you want to book qatar or cathay via british airways.

The avios in your qatar account can be transfered to your British airways account

It should be around 13,000 Avios + 2.5k in taxes. Call them to check availability before transferring
