How to Get Your First US Amex Credit Card—No SSN or ITIN Required!

I applied for a Business Gold card instead (have a US company in my name), although I could apply for it directly using my passport through phone (confirmed by Amex) and I wouldn't need a address proof for US (as company one works), I actually found a sweet 200k MR points Sign up bonus for Amex Business Gold but that can only be applied online, not through phone (phone is default 100k offer).

So I asked a friend of mine to use his SSN instead for the application verification, basically application is still in US company name and I as founder, but hes shown as a General Manager and the applicant for the card, for ID/KYC proof verification.
The verification went smoothly, business verification was done over call and now I am just pending Business Owner verification (my passport), I was told to expect a update this week so lets see.

200k SUB + 0% APR for 6 months, quite sweet deal so went through extra trouble of having friend apply instead, even though I will still get card in my name too (employee/owner card).
Right now there was a Business Blue Plus card offer too, 75k SUB and 0% APR for 12 months, $0 annual fee. But only for existing US card owners 🙂 So lets see if Gold approves, I will go for that too.

It sucks so bad that Indian cards have 2:1 ratio, while not only US cards do 1:1 but each month even get transfer bonuses. Last month or before that there were 50% transfer bonus to Marriott, virgin and one more.
How are you planning to spend on this card to hit the spending requirement for SUB

Business expenses, already was using a company (account) debit card for them, some expenses will pre-pay so like instead of monthly hosting bills, will prepay 6 months or even a year, as that also indirectly saves some money.
There is another way, but cannot discuss publicly, perhaps in DM. Hint: I have 2 companies

can you guide me plz.
I too have the Schwab International account. You can open yourself, fully online. May take 1-2 hrs to complete the whole process. Then they email you after 4-5 days that the account is ready to fund. Then u need to transfer USD 25,000/- .
You need to call their customer care and request for debit card and cheque book. It will be sent to India.
After receiving debit card, cheque you can withdraw all money. It's a 0 balance account then

That's a brokerage account not bank account. It cannot be used as a proxy for US bank account.
I know it's a brokerage account but it functions as a savings account, it has a visa debit card and cheque book. You can accept USD payments and can wire USD from it. It's a non resident account, same as an NRI account in India. If you do not have a work visa/SSN or green card of US you cannot open a resident US account. Mandal is doing illegal act by opening a resident US account while holding tourist visa.

If you want to follow his footsteps , sure do.

You are correct, technofino is indeed doing illegal thing (I mean no offense to him, but newbie members should know the fact).

In his thread of best debit card in the world, he said we can get schwab bank account etc. and the picture of debit card he posted was from "schwab bank checking account", and not from "schwab international brokerage account". So he was misleading us. Non-residents of USA cannot hold bank account. In that thread, he never mentioned that he got his schwab checking account using US address. I got to know about the difference between "schwab" and "schwab bank" after doing some research on my own.

@Lorddiesel no, I have absolutely no intention of holding US account illegally. Heck, I don't even have US visa. What I said is that, brokerage account and bank account are different. American credit card bill payment is not possible with schwab international brokerage account. For bill payment feature, you need real bank account.

Also, other than wire transfer, no other transfer such as ACH, zelle etc is possible.

but are u guys sure that Mandal is doing it illegally. I read some where he is selling in Amazon USA from India.
Whether you sell or whatever doesn't matter.

Even US citizens are not allowed hold US bank accounts if they stay away from the country for long time.

The term here is "resident". Means a person who is staying in the country for more than 183 days per year. Otherwise it's a clear violation. Go to reddit and read numerous stories about this. The moment bank will get to know the the customer is not staying in the US, they'll close checking account. Schwab converts all resident checking accounts to international account, which is just a brokerage account.
