How Do I Get Rid of a Paytm Soundbox? Seeking Solutions

I'm a Paytm for Business merchant facing a major issue, and I'm hoping someone in the community can offer a solution. For months, I have been trying to get my Soundbox rental cancelled and the device returned, but I'm stuck in a loop of failed pickups and continued billing. I have tried every channel I can think of—calling customer service, sending emails, and raising multiple tickets—all with no resolution.

Here is a timeline of the events:

My journey into this frustrating maze began on June 2, 2024. I officially logged a closure request, got my service request number, and thought the process was underway. I couldn't have been more wrong.

A few days later, I got a call from the pickup executive. I was relieved, thinking this would be the final step. Instead of arranging a pickup time, the executive launched into a sales pitch, insisting that I should get a new connection. I politely but firmly told him I wasn't interested; I just wanted the current device picked up as per my request.

His response was shocking. He flat-out refused to pick up the Soundbox.

Since that day, not only has the Soundbox been sitting uselessly at my shop, but Paytm has continued to charge me the monthly rental fee. I was charged for June, July, and now August, all for a service I formally requested to cancel months ago.

It feels like I'm being held hostage. My request is ignored, the company's representative refuses to do their job, and yet, the billing continues like clockwork. It’s not just about the money anymore; it’s about the principle. How can a company make it so difficult for a merchant to leave their service?

This is why I'm sharing my story. I've sent an escalation email to the Grievance Officer, but I'm not optimistic. I want to ask the wider community of merchants and business owners:

Has anyone else been through this with Paytm? How did you resolve it? Are there any other escalation channels or consumer rights I should be aware of?

Any advice or shared experience would be incredibly helpful.

Update 1: Only tickets raised, getting multiple calls for retention with a zero fee promise, but we all know Paytm merchants support.
