After Tata Neu launching card with SBI with spend based domestic lounge offer, it was a matter of time that HDFC would introduce spend based lounge criteria too.

This is the latest card to introduce after Kotak introduced such criteria in all its lower and mid tier cards.

The worst part of all this is not everyone has to keep a track of expenses to calculate the eligibility. The good part is now we may probably see some empty spaces in domestic lounges.

Received 2 vouchers for last quarter's (April - June) spendings.
This came as email and SMS. It is a gyftr portal link. After clicking the link, it asked for mobile number and then an OTP verification.
I need to claim them before Oct 8th, but I think I can use it even after that.

Are these vouchers gonna be standalone vouchers? Without having any sort of information of the person having the access!

Is it like... Bearers cheque? Those who carry these voucher will get access? Please let me know.

1. I dont yet know because like I told in the original post, I have claimed it but not yet received it in my email, so I willl know only after getting it.
2. I don't think it will be plain voucher that anyone can use, because at the time of claiming it asked for name and mail ID, so hopefully I think whatever they send (voucher or QR code) will contain the name that I entered while claiming.
3. I think first I need to fight with those gytr idiots to even get that voucher. Almost 1 hour passed and haven't got anything in email. Luckily I have taken the screenshot of order ID details after claiming. Those idiots can jinx anytihng anytime. So till I get it in my email, and til I use it at airport, nothing will be 100% sure.

In short, I think it is like any other DF lounge QR code that we usually generate from DF website, generally it allows only if the name is matching, but depends on our luck, and the lounge staff's mind at that time when we go there.

These are the terms and conditions mentioned:

• This voucher can only be used by the person whosename is stated at the top of their voucher.
• Proof ofidentification will be required to gain entry.
• This voucher is non-refundable and non-transferable.
• Outlet reserves the right to enforce a maximum staypolicy (usually 2-3 hours). This is as per the discretionof individual outlet.
• The standards and services at outlets in the DreamFolksprogram differ and are beyond our control.
• A description of the services available is shown on eachoutlet within the website.
• Outlets available in the program may change from timeto time.
• Outlets are operated by 3rd party vendors appointed byairport authorities and access to these outlets aresubject to availability.
• A restricted entry window may apply, typically 2 to 3hours prior to scheduled departure.
• Enforcement of a dress code or restrictions on attiremay apply.
• Additional outlet-specific rules such as restrictionsrelated to guests, children, or pets may apply.
• Before visiting, guests are advised to make priorenquiries with the outlet to ensure a smoothexperience.
• Compliance with all applicable outletpolicies is mandatory.
• Entry may be denied for failure toadhere to these conditions, without entitlement torefund or any compensation.

I think there is a work around - while claiming the voucher, enter the name of the person who want to use it.
The name and email ID fields are editable - we can enter the name and email ID of whoever is going to use this voucher, not necessarily need to be ours.

(There is 4 months time to claim the voucer, so fist find a buyer, agree on the price, and then enter his name while claiming. That name will appear on the DreamFolks QR code)

I had time till Oct to claim the voucher, so if I had claimed it on October, then from there, 6 months to use it. That is good - 4 months to claim and +6 months to use = we can plan for a total of 10 months.

I was impatient as ususal and claimed it immediately. So I cannot confirm if it is really like that - Even if I claimed on October and will it be valid only till December - I am not sure.

Basically I have a lot of bad luck, if I go after 4 months and it says invalid or unavailable, then I have to run behind all these people to get it again.
Anyway I will be traveling once or twice in the next 2-3 months, so I just redeemed it.

They will definitely deval this too . HDFC is very notorious for it's deval by 1000 cuts.


BTW if upi spends via other apps too considered for 50K milestone ?

Yes but I think the number of people availing this will be less. They have to spend, get voucher email, email can go to spam folder or unnoticed, email won't even come sometimes, redeem it, dreamfolks site should be working, gyftr site should be working. lot of steps involved. If you miss any one then it is gone.
Better will be direct card swipe and get access. So, many people won't even take the pain of doing all this.

Yes UPI spends on other apps are considered. Basically it is just the card spends. Not app specific. @HumorSimpson

Nope. People will complain at first, then slowly get used it.
Airport langar is birth right for most of us.

I have seen people fiddling thru 10s of cards swiping one by one to get free access.
