HDFC SKY or zerodha

ccninja

TF Select
Looking to start investing in stocks and few MF. i won't be doing buy/sell thing. Just buy and few Mutual fund sips. I have zerodha account but i want to open and get HDFC SKY just to have a better value in Bank and have better chances for high end credit cards. Goal is on Infinia LTF but i am still stuck with a 1.2L millennia card.

is it worth having your money in HDFC SKY or it get ignored while negotiation?

Zerodha kite is absolute no-nonsense platform. For long term investment, there is no brokerage. Only charges you pay is related to depository services. Coin from Zerodha is very good for MF. You can buy mutual fund from various fund houses without extra headaches of kyc. You may even buy direct mutual funds from coin (basically no commission being paid to coin). Your mutual funds are also held in CDSL. Just for peace of mind and good saving on brokerage and commission, I will suggest to go with Zerodha.

Also, I believe you will have diversified your investments. So, for FDs and PPF, go with HDFC bank. Not sure if HDFC considers ppf in TRV.

PPF rate increase over time or not? like FD rate is 7.25, PPF is 7.1 ? i am self employed so will it work for me?

check on twitter, how many times zerodha goes down as reported by users...Also go for broker, which does not operate prop desk...In terms of tools/indicators. HDFC sky is not the best....Consider Angel one (Listed company and NO Prop Desk)

In last year, it would have been 3-4 times. And for non traders, that would go almost unnoticed.
These 3/4 times are enough to throw you out of market.....They always go down when market is about to make big move....Calculate how much losses traders made...I shifted from zerodha to angel one 3 years back and my life is peaceful.....You should avoid brokers with prop desk.....

there is no direct mf plan in hdfc sky? also i see a valueback, 0amc plan for preferred customer https://www.hdfcbank.com/personal/invest/demat/open-demat-account/plans/platina-value-plan
There is no such thing as Direct Mutual Fund Plan in HDFC,
And first of all, you don't need a broker or/and a demat account to Buy direct Commission less Mutual Funds.

Why is there a need for a trust in a bank when that party is not required altogether unless you want to fulfil some TRV requirements for a HNI Banking Programme which the Bank is agreeing to in advance.
(Furthermore, HDFC doesnt considers MFs bought through HDFC sky in their TRV consideration, that would be HDFC securities.)

Ultimately in case of any issue in future you would need support from the respect AMC and CAMS/Kfintech.

Go Direct at the AMC site and buy. Remember Direct-Growth will be mentioned in what you buy, if its not or (R) is mentioned then its a Regular Plan.

Can also look into MF Central if you just need a platform (https://www.mfcentral.com/)

Been there - done this!
I shifted from HDFC Securities to Upstox to Zerodah to Upstox and now HDFC sky!

I am finally happy with HDFC Sky's no nonsense platform.. plus the most important thing for my investments - zero brokerage on ETFs 🙂

You changed your platform so many times
What about tax implications? I believe, every time you had to sell your and buy, that comes with huge tax implications, isn’t it?

Ease of seeing all MFs at one place. And no need for kyc with each MF provider.
