HDFC Millennia DC: Smartbuy 5% + 5% (Extra 2.5% for online halted)

Edit: The extra 2.5% on Sbuy not coming these days as confirmed by many. SO now it is 5% + 5% but Millennia CC still has 5%+1%..

This post is regarding earning 12.5% on Smartbuy using HDFC Millenia. There is nothing new in this but many of us are missing higher CB on low spend.

We all know that Millennia DC has max. cap of Rs.400 as 5% cashback so we mostly use it for 16000 CC Payment or some use it for wallet load of 40K.

The thing I analyzed today was, my friend in Dec- 2023 used his Millennia DC on smartbuy for Rs.5000 for flipkart voucher only and nowhere else. When I checked his rewards, it were 5% smartbuy cashback offer (upto Rs.1000/month) for HDFC cards i.e Rs.250 were credited in April 2024, 5% Millennia DC specific for txn on Smartbuy/Payzapp i.e as per TnC and also 2.5% as online usage. Total 375 was credited to him. Max. is 400.

With Millennia CC it was confirmed since years that smartbuy txns were giving 5% cashback + 1% online spend so total 6% but same is with Millennia DC also.

So next time when you buy A gift card from smartbuy worth Rs. 5340 will fetch you- Rs.267+133.50 = Rs. 400 (50 paisa 😆 will not be given as 400 is max limit). The smartbuy cashback of 5340*5/100= 267 will be extra and come under 1000 cashback category.

Main point missed was the 5% debit card specific cashback and 2.5% online and 1% offline/wallet load, all have a cumulative limit of max. 400. So most of us missed this thing as were spending more than 8000-16000 every month.

I just checked and it's not coming at payment page. Sometimes it happens to few account only and then it will come itself as I told you. 🙂 In month of May, it was visible in my father's Payzapp account and I got it after 7 days. So things like these happens and we dont know why and how they take out few accounts,

After we do one txn of month this coupon generally removes and come back in 24-72 hrs. Sometimes even without txn it disappears and came back later. Payzapp is going through lot of changes and app updating every week, So keep patience.

Did 20K wallet load on July 1 and received 200 cashback points on Millennia DC. Also made a transaction via Smartbuy on 4 June & received the 5% promotional cashback points on July 1.
So, seems like it is confirmed that people don't have to wait for 90 days to receive the cashback points on Millennia DC now.

So, seems like it is confirmed that people don't have to wait for 90 days to receive the cashback points on Millennia DC now.

It is confirmed since June 3 and dont needs to be reconfirmed again ever. 🙂

At what time? I did in morning at around 9:00 AM. If you did at night then check around that time.

when buying agv worth 8K from payzapp we double dip

1. 5% upto 400 online feature of millenia dc. fulfillment is in 60 days after the current month. since June 2025 they are fulfilling in 3 days.
2. 5% smartbuy as promotional fulfillment is 90 days ?
3. 3% is insta discount by the coupon
4. 4% is charges inc. gst

so you get 5+5+3-4 = ~9%

At what time? I did in morning at around 9:00 AM. If you did at night then check around that time.

I also observed the same. My morning txn gave cashback in mroning and after 5 PM txn gave at night. 🤣

Cashback is automated with time and once the set times completes it is credited. If txn is done after 6 PM on say 1st of month it will not arrive on 3rd of month and rather 4th morning.
