HDFC Add on Credit Card - FAQ

HDFC has started to provide add on credit cards with different card number compared to primary cards. That's beneficial for gift cards, upi.

FAQ
- Are you sure new add on will get different number?
Yes, haven't heard same cc number allocated after the change.

- Can I get add on for same family member who already has add on?
Yes, but suggest you close existing add on by calling customer care.

- How can I apply for new add on?
Through net banking or app.

- How to change phone number for Add on credit card?
Calling customer care will not work. You have to fill a form and send to Chennai office or drop in a branch. You can also scan and send through grievance email id. (link to the form: https://www.hdfcbank.com/content/ap...e57c87f/62b2bcd4-df35-4973-ac35-19973df4e792?).

- Should we fill primary card holder details or add on holder details in the above form?
Add on holder details and sign is required.

- How many days will it take to change number?
2-3 working days per experience

-How to change pin of add on cc?
Go to add on holder's internet banking, then update there.

-will I get the priority pass with different number as well along with add on credit card?
Yes. If add on has different number, PP will be a different number as well.

I already have a DCB add on with the same card number as primary card. Now if I want to get an add on with different card number:
1. Do I have to close the existing add on and re-apply for a new add-on
2. Or the customer service team can generate/transfer a new add on card with the new number
3. If I go ahead with closing the add-on, is there a cooling period till when I cannot apply for a new add-on for the same person for the same card variants

Basically they close old addon and get new addon your behalf

No cooling period
 
Very perthitic experience for ADD On card, twice I have sent form and documents to their Chennai office and both time they rejected on Signature mismatch ground. Then I was suggested by RM to go through branch and filled the form again, and once again they rejected on my application.
 
Let me understand this, if primary or the future addon applicant don't have HDFC savings accounts, we can apply for add-on only by filling a physical form and sending through courier? And no guarantees they will send OTPs to the addon holder number as well?
