Does SBI (or any other) credit card charge any fee for declined payment due to insufficient balance?

I have experience with SBI Debit card about charging fee for declined transaction due to insufficient balance. Does it also happen with credit cards? If so, does it happen both for POS and online transactions?

Also, does it happen for debit cards only in case of POS transactions or even for online transactions?

Yes, this is very common. Happens on both POS and ATM, online, not sure. For CC, they will charge if you have turned on the overdraft facility.

Thank you. And no, overdraft facility is turned off in my cc, that's why it was declined. And it was an online transaction. Will I still be charged for that?

According to SBI cc there will be no such penalty for declined transactions in case of credit cards, be it online or POS.
