Check SBI credit card actual rejection reason

Status
The first post in this thread is a WikiPost, and can be edited by anyone with the appropriate permissions.
If you got a nonsensical or vague reason for SBI credit card rejection like for e.g. "due to internal policy", etc., you can check the real reason via an SBI credit card executive. These people roam around SBI branches, malls, airports, petrol pumps, etc.
They have a mobile app called PowerPlay. The app is not available for end users.
After opening the PowerPlay app, there are forms to apply for different SBI credit cards. Select a random credit card to apply. In the application form there is a text box to enter PAN number and a button below it that says "PAN Dedupe". Enter the PAN number and click the button "PAN Dedupe". No other details need to entered. There is no CIBIL hit. You will get details of all SBI credit cards applied against that PAN number with the details of rejection/selection under "Status" and "Reason Code".
The code can looked up further in the attached PowerPoint slides which has some common rejection codes. The slides mention ways to fix the issues and the cooling period.
There is one more attachment with all the rejection codes for reference. But its of no use as it doesn't mention the corrective measures.

hehe, I was the one who made this thread https://www.technofino.in/community...-leverage-issue-fixed-lets-close-cards.37331/

and The first pic posted in that thread was posted by me only via some SBI Card guy sitting in a branch.

@kuchbhi is using my pic only which i posted.

I know my reason, it's u2 overleveraged when I applied in Jan 2025. It's been 90 days/3months cooling period over however this time, My application isn't even moving forward, it's hitting an error with dead end which I posted here.

In this scenerio try changing number & apply with the existing PAN card, if it gets approved then change mobile number

I am trying with ph no which always has declined for overleveraged.

If I try with my alternative number, that number is already connected to my add on cashback card under my name (primary is my SIL's cashback card). Also my alternative number is connected to my mother's savings account too :crying-face:

Try with any number that isn't attached to any sbi card

Just tried. Declined internal policies. Not an issue. My limits are still 3x my ITR even though I cancelled 8 cards in last 2 months.

Now, I need to check with SBI guy is overleveraged the same reason why I got declined or is there some other reason this time.

Also, I got CIBIL sms not on my cibil registered number, but got sms on alternate number of cibil, so idk if they checked my cibil or my mother's cibil. I got email aswell from cibil on my father's email address which is registered at cibil website. Quite fckd up lol. But these both ph no and email are the same that I provided to SBI right now when I applied so it makes sense if I get sms on the same ph no/email. What I don't get is, why would cibil themselves won't send me sms/email on my registered email/ph no that is with them as I am a CIBIL subscriber.

I did took me to digilocker option, and worked and then decline. Anyways, I guess best option is to chk with sbi guy as we can't do it ourselves as we don't have access to the powerplay app that they have.

Login to cibil and check which all emails and mobile numbers are attached with your PAN.

Change them on the relevant credit cards and then dispute them on cibil if doesn't reflected within one month.

Also for cibil try changing email & mobile number and restore back to number & email you want to receive alerts.

update : I texted sbi guy and he replied with screenshot, quite fast service lol. Yup, it is same reason, over leveraged.

Screenshot, it shows my 29th jan decline and today's decline. Ughhhh. I guess I have to cancel more cards and apply after 3 months. Thing is, I can only cancel 2 more cards, reducing my limit further 5L.

Then my total limit would be around 17L (plus the limit SBI considers of amex gold charge card as it doesn't show limit on cibil.)

I have 28.1 Lacs limit on cibil, I think the limit doesn't matter for liverage, number of card matters only.
