Cancelling a Credit Card

Hi, correct me if this is already discussed. What are the after effects when we chose to close a credit card. Will it affect apply for new card (like I have one Indusind card got thru Bankbazaar) now I want to close and apply for better one. In other thread also I mentioned that, I closed my IRCTC SBI card in Visa but when I applied for new card under RuPay my application got rejected.

u can to that but first u can directly ask to customer care u want to upgrade your card other wise close if this is in there hand so the do .
I'll do this to in axis bank closed my one credit acc. and get within 3days new .
just check the cooldown period for New credit card in indusind
