BOB Lite Account – Want to Update Both Addresses to Aadhaar Address Without Changing Home Branch (Need Clarity)

Hello everyone,

I’ve been using a Bank of Baroda Lite Savings Account for the past 1 year.
My Aadhaar has my village address, but I currently live at my communication address, where I had opened my BOB Lite account. While opening it online, I used this current address (supported by voter ID as address proof), and selected the nearby branch (just 1 km from my house) as my home branch.

My permanent address is 150+ km away from my communication address.

Now, I want to update both my communication and permanent addresses to my village address (as per Aadhaar). I have no issues receiving any letters or correspondence there, and I want this update so that my bank account reflects my Aadhaar address as valid proof.

I visited my home branch to request the update, but the staff said that if I change both addresses to my village, I’ll also need to change my home branch to a nearby branch in that area. They also told me that right now, my communication and permanent addresses are from different places as per the bank record -> Aadhaar address as permanent address and my current address as communication address.

However, when I contacted BOB customer care, they told me that I can update both addresses to my Aadhaar one while keeping the same home branch.

Now I’m confused — branch staff says no, but customer care says yes.

Has anyone here successfully updated both addresses to one address and still kept their original home branch which is around 150km+ from the address?

How do I explain this to branch staff or escalate it correctly? Any circular or proof would help.

Also, I asked for a passbook, but they said I’ll need to pay ₹150 because I opened the account online. Is that true? Did anyone with a BOB Lite account get it for free?

Would really appreciate if anyone can share their real experience or the correct process.

Thanks in advance!

First, you should email the customer care. In the email, mention the branch's IFSC code number and complain. Also write down what the branch employee told you. Then see what response comes from the bank.

Just scan the documents and send a mail to that branch where u have a/c and wait for 3-4 days or a week and if it's not done raise a service request on BOB portal, they will do it to close the complaint!

I did same, branch was in Bangalore and address village one!!!
