Best Credit Cards for International Transactions

Though India is way beyond in the Credit card game and variants but we can notice a great community is being build revolving it and the growth is great in terms of new credit card consumers in past 5-6 years. From insanely popular cashback cards to the cards for nerds, the airmiles cards, we can see a lot of variation. There are specific set of users who are like me who do a big portion of their total spends on International transitions, this thread is specially for them.

The forex markup varies between 0 - 3.5%. But hey, as the Zero markup straightaway seems to save a lot of bucks, but sometimes it's not "the best" option, which I'll discuss. can you explain what is this SC utimate 1.5% CB offer .. offer for all SC ultimate holders ?
4.13--1.50 = 2.63% is the forex markup.
The return is approx. 2.90% (not 3.33%) after considering the 5900 renewal fee, 5000 points and 117 redemption fee

Great Summary!

Newbie here. Currently shortlisting credit cards that I can get as NRI
Usage: Will be both in India (mainly add on for parents and spend during our yearly trip to India) and occasional international transactions if the net rewards are good compared to local cards here.

Have a question on calc on international transaction for Infinia card.
Example:
Spend amount : Rs. 150
Transaction fees including GST : Rs. 3.54 [150*(2.36%)]
GVP cash back : Rs. 1.50

Total amount : 152.04 (150+3.54-1.5) with GVP and 153.54(150+3.54) without GVP

Does this mean with 5 rewards point for Rs. 150 spend, the rate of return be 3.29%(5/152.04) and 3.25%(5/153.54) respectively?

Zenith plus should also be included in the list with 2% reward and 1% markup and we just have to pay GST effectively for this card. I am using it extensively for online foreign transactions.
Best forex card is Au IXIGO LTF. 0% forex and 2.5% return in the form of IXIGO money.

I am thinking to take Paid yes marquee in place of LTF yes Reserv just for foreign online spends.

The card joining fee is easily recovered by welcome benefits. And 4.5% reward rate with 1.18% charges is pretty good for online forex spends.

May close or downgrade to LTF Reserv next year again.

Is the reward rate same for POS international transactions (offline)? Or the cards will be different? @Subhankar @SSV

For example SBI cashback will not give only 1% on POS offline right ? So, which card to prefer ? I currently have Wow for offline international. Can someone recommend some card with net positive returns?
