So I am new to credit cards. I wish to know on what basis these (or any more) banks offer PRE-APPROVED credit card or CC with minimal documentation/no income check/no home visit etc -- is it purely based on high Savings account balance for these below banks or some also consider high amount of FDs which increase your Total/Net relationship value? (note: not secured/FD-backed CC) Please comment on each bank and on what criteria they offer - Savings account Balance OR FD/TRV/NRV

- HDFC
- SBI Card
- Kotak
- IndusInd
- Yes Bank
- ICICI
- Axis
- IDFC First
- Federal
- RBL
- Any foreign banks - SC, Citi, HSBC

I had SBI high MAB in savings account and FDs — that's how I believe I got my first ever CC pre-approved SimplyCLICK. But for HDFC, only having SavingsMax account was enough to start getting pre-approved offers, although the credit limit increased after I created FD (so maybe they do look at NRV/TRV too). Other banks I don't know if they consider FD at all. e.g. IDFC despite having FDs is currently pushing only WOW card on me — although that the card is good for me for 0% forex, but sure would be nice to have another unsecured IDFC card for railway lounge access. IDFC manager told me clearly that for Select/Wealth etc premium banking programs, they don't consider FD at all, the amount has to be in your savings account only.
