Bandhan Bank - NPCI and RBI guidelines violation

I had opened a savings account in Bandhan Bank (Rs 5000 AMB). I had opened it just to keep extra money there and to link it to my stockbroker. I opened it only after seeing on the NPCI website that it supports Aadhaar-OTP UPI registration. However, I was unable to register using the said method. It displayed an error that my Aadhaar number was not linked to my savings account. I am not willing to request a debit card as it will be of no use.

I complained the same to their Level 1 customer care.
They informed me that Aadhaar-OTP UPI registration is not available in Bandhan Bank.

I complained the same to their Principal Nodal Officer (PNO)
I mentioned that the facility is available as per the NPCI website. I also mentioned the RBI Master Directions, para 14 (d) of which states, "Banks shall not force a customer to avail debit card facility and shall not link issuance of debit card to availment of any other facility from the bank."
However, I did not receive any reply.

Finally, I escalated the matter to the RBI Ombudsman.
The PNO responded stating that the facility will be available from 31.08.2024 (tentatively).

The RBI Ombudsman has sought comments from me before closing the complaint. This is the first time something like this has happened to me though.

I will soon. I'm now handling a complaint with AUSFB regarding credit card misselling by branch employee.

He promised lifetime free card (pre-approved). However, chargeable card has been provided, which is AU Altura (₹199+GST).

I'll soon post a thread regarding it.
Very common scam



U need to have some written proof to file proper complaint.

Mere bhi ek loan ka issue tha .
Bandhan ka main business... group loans ka tha .
Mujhe Sanction letter aur approval message aane ke bad bhi loan disbursement nahi karre the , kyu ki KYC ka issue ke liye maine tweet Kiya tha .
2 mahine RBI se complaint me Bandhan ke PNO ne kaha ki loan ke group members ne bola ki mein defaulter hu .
Reality was group loan ka group meeting mere ghar me hi hota tha .
Akhir aapke case main kya hua?

Aapne RBI ko apni CIBIL report nahi dekhiye?

Bro is talking about how his parents were sanctioned loan by Bandhan Bank and subsequently denied disbursement stating that they have defaulted in past.


Bro thinks that bank took revenge of a tweet that he did against them.

He had to step back as his parents had low CIBIL.

Only my father's cibil was low as he was co applicant and Bank pno told lies to RBI

Why Father became co applicant?

Low CIBIL people shouldn't become co applicant.

Also u should have contested with bank that CIBIL and default related enquiry is to be done before and not after loan has been sanctioned.
 
Then how will you prove ur claim?
Approach branch employee first and confront him and branch manager about mis selling.

Bandhan don't check cibil much they disburse with low cibil also .
Sanction letter was given to us in sept Oct only and I said this to RBI also but bandhan pno said initially we checked only the cibil of applicant and after that cibil of co applicant was checked .

Very wierd answer since all this checking of co applicant is done before giving sanction letter.

What clause RBI OMBUDSMAN APPLIED.
