Hi everyone,
Just wanted to share my frustrating journey with Axis Bank’s Magnus for Burgundy credit card, and see if anyone else has faced a similar situation.
Back in April, I was assured by Axis Bank that if I opened a Burgundy account and maintained ₹10L+ AQB, I would easily qualify for the Magnus for Burgundy credit card. Based on that promise, I went ahead, opened the account, and fulfilled all criteria.
The first application was submitted on 5th July — and got rejected due to my PIN code not being serviceable. This wasn’t disclosed beforehand.
I was then told to change my PIN code via Aadhaar update, which I did — despite the hassle.
On 16th July, the application was resubmitted, but I wasn't confident due to how poorly it was handled.
Now, when I check the status, it shows:
> “Credit card application processing on hold – our representative will contact you for additional information/documents.”
Here’s the kicker: I have written messages from the Branch Manager clearly stating that the credit card approval was already taken for me. Despite this, the application is still hanging, and no one has provided a clear resolution.
It’s been over 3.5 months. I’ve parked funds, wasted time, and have now moved my spends to other cards. At this point, I’m seriously questioning the value of the Burgundy relationship and feel completely misled by the branch.
Has anyone else experienced something similar with Axis or other banks where written commitments weren’t honored? Would appreciate any suggestions on how to push this forward or get the right attention.
Thanks for reading.
