Issue Resolved Axis declined Cashback credit card request citing weird excuses !!

hello,
I applied for Axis Cashback card on 4th july. Since the card was not in the list of pre-approved cards, I had complete vKYC, despite having 2 cards & salary a/c with them.

To my surprise, the very next day I received decline mail, citing same bulls*it internal policy.

I immediately wrote back asking for exact reason for decline, citing RBI guideline.

10 days later, I received a reply saying, and I quote "We regret to inform you that, in accordance with our bank’s policy, each customer is eligible to hold only one type of credit card—either a cashback credit card or a rewards credit card."

I was like, what the hell, I already have a cashback card (Ace) along with a Rewards card (Privilege). What are these guys smoking these days !!

I immediately wrote to Nodal Officer, highlighting the issue.

Now, today after waiting for again 10 days, i finally received a response from Nodal Office team saying, "We regret to inform you that your Credit Card application has not been approved as you are already holding cash back card product. Hence you are not eligible for new cashback card product."

Again, I was holding Ace card along with Flipkart card for very long time....which I closed last year in hope to upgrade to a better card.

So, now shall I again raise the issue with PNO or approach RBIO ??
Anyone faced a similar situation while applying Axis credit card??

Edit: The card finally appeared in the pre-approved cards list...I applied successfully & got the card on 30.08.2025 !!

Axis bank rules that you can hold only 2 cashback credit card like fk & airtel and 3rd one is reward base credit card like my zone or neo or indianoil etc

To me Axis Bank replied saying since I already hold a cashback card, another cashback card cannot be issued to me!!
This means in my case only one cashback card per customer is allowed...which is again in contrast to what Axis (I guess) informed to you !! 😜

I applied Cashback because it was not in the pre-approved list. I hold ace and neo. They rejected and pno shared same reason. Escalated to md desk. Before I get acknowledgement from md desk, card showed in pre-approved list. I applied and it got approved instantly.

If only we could escalate to MD desk for SBI Cashback also
