It will not affect 80% of the people. I appreciate Axis for not going full throttle and including 2% categories in the 500 maximum tier.
People exploit services > Devaluation
If someone tries to make a living out of these cashback then this is bound to happen. Although I do think the cashback cap should have been back calculated to break even at fee reversal. I like that they capped rather than removing features.
As long as I can get more than 589 cashback through this card in a year I don't mind paying fees.

Airtel axis would be better in that case. Zomato and Swiggy 10% instead of 5% and 10% utility bills on Airtel thanks. Both having separate 500 and 300 cappings respectively.

I have not seen marketing of this card anywhere. Moreover, it is one of the most difficult card to get since it is not easily available to apply.
+1, doesn't affect me much as well.
Anyway most of us don't have >10000 bill payment.
So cashback = annual fee is easily achievable.
Plus this card will keep giving 2% for payments offline.
And being core axis card, its eligible in all sales for instant discount whenever applicable.
Devaluation started this year with Magnus, next Vistara cards, FK cards, now ace. Every Axis card on the list of devaluation. I actually have around 7k bills per month electricity, DTH, Internet, Gas and water bill, so your trick was a bonus. Now I guess you need to calculate how much cap remaining and only rotate small amount to fill the 500 cap

Devaluation of Flipkart Axis cc
From 5th march,2023 , flipkart axis cc will not give any cashback on gift card purchases and utility bill payments.Hence, the card remains good only for flipkart grocery purchases.🥲🥺 Hope that Axis doesn't do the same with their ACE cc.😴
