Always get a core card first then cobranded. Same goes always get an Unsecured card first then secured. If you will go the othweway round it's usually not easy

Usually? No

From the same bank? No

From another bank? Yes

I have enough unsecured CCs. I am still considering to apply for a secured CC (IDFC wow) for 0 forex. But, IDFC is sending a paid virtual UPI floater card at the moment with WOW. Still considering something similar for 0 forex, even it means secured. Basically, depends on what we get from a particular card.

Same boat, please let me know too once you get a fix

pothi : I also have a wow card for this reason alone, as idfc does not source cc in my area.
So even if any bank doesn't serve in an area (for unsecured cards) one can still get a secured card in that very area?

Is that the case ? For any/every bank?

Every bank that has secured CC option. All major Indian banks have this option. HDFC, ICICI, Axis, SBI, Canara, etc. Amex doesn't provide secured CC.
So no matter the serviceable PiN codes or not, one can open an FD and get any bank's Secured card (offcourse with banks which provide secure cards ).

Am I reading (understanding) it right here ?
