Anyone with SBI cards downgrade experience?

If anyone has done any downgrades for SBI credit cards, can you share if you got new card welcome benefits?
I downgraded from SBI Prime to SBI SimplySave and paid joining fee as well. I also spent initial 2k to fulfill welcome offer to get 2000 points but SBI customer care on email saying I am not eligible for welcome offer as I have downgraded my card.
I am not sure how I can get those 2k points now.

By requesting them for card closure, sbi card retention team is too good.

That is not 100% working method. Some got closed their cards without SBI calling them back.
personally I don't consider SBI card retention is too good. Its just good. Some gets waiver/LTF and some not.

Call customer care & ask to connect with retention team, not by placing request for closure

I had downgraded from BPCL Octane to BPCL card. I had received the welcome benefits for the downgraded card also

Hey guys, I have an SBI Elite(FYF) which now feels useless to me. I'm thinking of downgrading it to an SBI Cashback Card. Is this possible? Has anyone done this before? Can anyone share their experience?

I've applied for Cashback Card twice, 6 months apart, but got rejected both times. My current card has a limit of 120,000 and is 1.7 years old. If anyone has a trick or suggestion to get this downgraded, please share. Maybe a specific phone call or email to contact? Any help would be appreciated🫣

One can only get SBI Cashback by fresh application that to online way. SBI do not allow upgrade Or downgrade from any SBI card to Cashback card.

Hi @QamarImam please ask customer care, if they can downgrade else whatever I knew cashback can only be availed through applying for it via online sprint only.

They do not downgrade to Cashback card as others have mentioned.
