I
I think this revaluation is not just for Mayura/ Ashva, but all IDFC cards in general. The T&Cs indicate that this multiplier towards hotel and flight bookings, is applicable to all credit cards from IDFC, and not Mayura and Ashva alone. Following is the multiplier factor for IDFC's LTF CCs -

Flight Spends: LTF Cards (FIRST Classic, FIRST Select, FIRST Millennia, First FAMILY, First Wealth) = 20x Bonus Points/ 150 Spent
Hotel Spends: LTF Cards (FIRST Classic, FIRST Select, FIRST Millennia, First FAMILY, First Wealth) = 50x Bonus Points/ 150 Spent

Point Conversion 1 RP = INR 0.25

(Similar is the case for LIC Cards, Power Cards etc.)

IMHO, While Mayura 2.0 has a higher Point conversion at 1 RP = INR 0.5, and 30X bonus point multiplier for flights, I think other IDFC CCs have become powerful too. So, if someone has a decent primary card (say Atlas), and a free card IDFC card (say select or wealth) then the travel/ hotel rewards of the free IDFC card along with, the 5999 + GST fee saved, will prove the upgradation to Mayura/ Ashva unnecessary. If, however, someone does not have any 0 Forex card with decent rewards, then the Mayura/ Ashva no more remain as bad as they were earlier, and maybe considered.

I think all IDFC cards have now become an excellent back-up choice for Atlas, once the travel spend ceiling of 2L/ month is reached.
I have only first classic card. So acc to you either I shld be having alteast select variant else if no forex card then ashva / mayura

@PrinceHeart which is better?
Convert all your reward pts into cash and let me know is Mayura = atlas or better or less
Unless all that one does is fly from here to there, and stay at hotels - Axis is better. Because for the first 20K spent on non-flight/ hotel spends using Mayura (assuming the points earned are redeemed at flights/ hotels), is 1.67%, which is significantly lesser than Atlas whose highest conversion for regular spends (i.e. without 5x) per every 100 is 7.2% (assuming conversion is done to Accor).

Just saw your updates post with travel edge data. The base price of the ticket has increased already by 300+.

Idfc app is already at full capacity and giving errors when click on flights. Moreover, i think i saw we can only use 70% of points, and rest 30% can pay by cash. And only get the reward points on full payment with cash only.

As for the full calculation
On IDFC app
AirIndia 26th june (free seat + meal)
Kolkata 02:25 - Delhi 04:55
Rs. 5234
+ CF Rs. 300
Total = Rs. 5534
- 15% cc discount code = Rs. 4749

Rs. 4449 (4749- 300) ÷ 150
= 29 x 50
= 1450 points x 0.50
= 725 worth of points value as cashback.

4749 - 725 = Rs. 4024 final price.

First - The multiplier points on classic and select are the same. What's the "at least select" angle?
Second - If you're a frequent traveller, and do not have any good travel card like Atlas, then Mayura/ Ashva are not as bad anymore. Doesn't mean you have to get it.

Oh ya na.. Accelerated rewards are from 20k spends every month. I have clubbed of both regular and flight spends ( 6 annually domestic) on my atlas.
Need to check the hotel pricing too in IDFC portal along with acc reward structure.

Shouldn't this be 1595 points (5x base points bhi toh milenge), making the final ticket price INR 3951.5.

I think there is some confusion.

10 rp per 150 are for crossing 20k.

Mayura gets you 40 rp, ashva gets you 30rp. So total goes 50 rp for mayura and 40 rp for ashva.

Accelerated rp is only after crossing 20k.

If someone doesnt cross 20k, they still get base + 40rp for mayura and so on.

Is this correct ?

It's 30X +10X base = 40X for flights
50X for hotels.. Correct me if I am wrong
29*40= 1160 pts
1160*0.5= 580
Net retuns = 4169/-

Yes, you should get base reward for all hotel/ flight booking since they are eligible spends. This base rate is 5RP/ 150 for less than 20K, and 10RP/ 150 for more than 20K.

Prince said redemption for select is 1.00 so atleast I said

No no...its 0.25 for LTF cards classic se lekar wealth tak. If select gets a conversion of 1Re, i.e. double of Mayura which is 0.50, then it will start giving the same benefits as Mayura, for free. IDFC ka server crash ho jayega with applications 😅 .

Nahi bhai. I dont 30x + 10x hoga for all cases. Agar aapke use Mahine ke spends 20K se kam hain, then it will become 30x + 5x.
Yup correct and let's go with 20k spends quite achievable in a month unless you have to book in the first week of the month or so.. Then 2 scenarios comes up
1) < 20 k. Net returns = 4241/-
2) > 20 k. Net returns = 4169/-

It says for first private. Sorry guys.

I request @PrinceHeart or @Finchamp! Or any mod to edit and make a tabular format and for Atlas / Mayura various redemption and give it an upvote so that it can be useful for all the other members and don't have to go through the entire pages of discussion as it's travel centric cards.
Hope it helps all.

Now it's correct! But one more thing to consider is that the 20K per month spends, though achievable, will not be using hotel/ flight spends every month. It will be through regular online and offline spends only, for which Mayura would give a best return of 1.8%, as opposed to Atlas's best return of 7.2%. So ideally for the entire year, you would loose returns worth = (7.2 - 1.8)% of 20K*12 = INR 12,960 (worst case, and extremely possible scenario). So, IDFC might win for hotel/ flight bookings (with discounts etc.), if taken in isolation, but overall, on an average, Axis Atlas would still take lead.

Yes correct,

Plus there are other cards in the market as well, magnus, reserve, amex etc. So it all comes down to which people got which cards.

For me idfc mayura is worth it for the metal cc collection and i am willing to close it from 2nd yr onward. Cause I have magnus + travel edge combo.

I am sure by may 2026, there will be few more credit cards in the market.

As for hotel, i got many to choose from like marriott, accor, taj, itc, etc. And they need us to book directly with them to get the hotel points and perks.
