1% Cashback returns on HDFC Platinum Debit Card

2 months in a row my SBI card payment fails . Im thinking whether it has to do with sbi cashback card getting cashback credited so some issue with the amount being paid. Other card payments are smooth.
I too faced this issue. Last month, the amount was around 17k, and it got paid successfully.
Yesterday, the amount debited for SBI Cashback was around 26k. Since the amount debited, I didn't check whether it's credited or not, but I just checked the payment was still pending in my Card. I saw HDFC Bill Payment History, and it is showing the status as failed.

Can you please share your experience of what happens in this case?
Does HDFC retry the payment, or do they refund the amount? In case of a refund, how much time do they take?
 
did you remember how much outstanding amount was there on your card when bill pay succeed. Was it more than total bill amount due? that mean you did some transactions after bill generated?
No. I have seen a instance where no transaction was made after statement generation. ~100Rs cashback received. And also payment went through without any problem.
 
They will refund the amount within a week usually and you have to manually pay it .

My sbi cashback card bill payment is failing since past 2 months. Had to manualy pay. What might be the reason?
Autopay failing is a bug that no one in HDFC knows why. HDFC will provide whatever nonsense reason they can think at the time of responding.
You just leave it like that and pay manually whenever it fails. It auto corrects itself one fine day and you will see autopay succeeding for the same cards that had failed in the past without doing anything. Deleting and re-registering the biller has no effect.
 
I had my SBI cashback card payment fail as well for the past 2 months. HDFC only responded with a statement that bill amount doesn’t match with presented amount and that I should connect with SBI to resolve the issue.

I seem to get the 1% cashback on SmartPay and not if I make the payment manually later. Is that how it is?

Usse mental satisfaction to milta hai, humse jo ho sakta tha kiya humne, delete kro, fir add kro, dono time OTP do. Fir wait karo auto pay ka.

Not sure if it is already discussed. Any trick to pay HDFC cc bill by platinum dc? Cant find HDFC cc in billpay list of bank. Similarly HSBC though in the list but cant be added for auto schedule.
