1% Cashback returns on HDFC Platinum Debit Card

Is there a max limit for Autopay? I know from a cashback perspective we have a cap of 750, meaning 75000 CC bill.

However if I have a Axis CC bill of 1.4 lac, will the Autopay work fine if I select payment full amount during Autopay setup?

Or should I indicate max amount of 75000 while setting up the Autopay?
You have to set bill to pay in Full amount only. Check this thread old pages if anyone got success with that much huge amount of bill.

The auto pay wont happen if bill is above Rs 1 lac. Above this amount there is a re-confirmation needed. And this system of re-confirmation is not working properly with HDFC. So no use. Wont get rewards.

Also reward comes on full payment on auto-mode without OTP. So dont set limit on any biller.

No verification call. Last month they called for 24K but this month no call for 42K.
Some Banking systems are designed in such a way that they call for 5K txn but don't for 1L+ txn. In past I had a Rs.6450 txn and HDFC CC called me twice to confirm the same whether it was me. Few days later tickets booking of Rs.1.53L and no call at all. It was like we will call/alert you only when amount is low.

It simply means their system believes when holder use it txns size would be high while when fraudster use it it will be below 10K. 🤣

I requested platimum debit card upgrade to millenia, and it is in transit. Shall I discard upgrade as millenia can only get 400 cashback and platinum can get 750?
I think it is late to do this now because your current card will stop working in a couple of days once you receive the new one. If you will request ESP back, you won't get CB on bill payment since this DC's benefits are now changed in the newer version.

Don't activate the new card by setting PIN and setting limits for ECOM Tap and Pay. In simple words receive the card and act as if you didn't receive.

Hotlist it (new Millennia card) after you get it delivered and it can be hotlisted from from Netbanking.

Your current card won't deactivate. System deacivates a card only if two active cards are there for more than 3 days after delivery of second card.

SBI CB bill processed successfully through autopay. Debited at 6:05AM and confirmation received at 6:32 AM.
Thanks for confirming. 🙂 Some people were not beleiving that having current due more than O/S bill can help.

As I told, if current due is more than bill amount it will always process the bill and failure is mainly because of this cashback credit and as 5% extra only allowed by SBI it always come less than bill amt if you don't do any txn that can bring due over your billed amt.

Anyways, if you hadn't confirmed, I would have as already activated smartpay for my own SBI card to test in cousin's account who is holding ESP.

Bro believe me this didn’t work for me.
After my first months failure, I had carefully used more than the cashback received. Yet the autopay failed on the 2nd month as well. There would be something else which is causing the failures. Can’t say what though.

It was a general reply not for anyone. Yes, in technical world reasons can be many. Sometimes we get to know and sometimes don't. We have to find out and remove those reasons which we think can be.

Try next month also and see if it goes through. Sometimes it can be problem with few customers only like in past I was able to pay bills via smartpay when MCC was not changed but in my brother's account it used to fail at same time. Never got to know the reason. But trying next month from his account and all went smooth. BILLPAY has its own set of issues and different customer get different results with it.

Shall I hotlist the card or just keep it as it it, without activating?

Mostly cards issued by bank comes pre-activated with ATM and offline POS txns enabled. Not the case with CC though which requires a txn in 30 days or else deactivates. So you better hotlist it only after receiving it is only thing I suggest to save ESP from getting deactivated.

How system works at HDFC.

Current Card - Request for new Card - Card Delivery Confirmed to Them by partner courier - System will deactivate old card and keep new active in next 3-5 days.

But if system don't find two active cards after you hotlist Millennia, it wont close your old card.

Also even if you keep it idle I can't confirm 100% whether they will close ESP or not. In past they didn't closed older one till new one wasn't activated (Setting PIN and enabling ECOM). Setting PIN itself is a mode of activation for new card. That's why I asked you not to set pin or even do anything to it.

For my own changed card I activated after 17 days and after that old one closed after 4 days of it. But not sure whether same thing is getting followed now or not.

I think I should hotlist then, anyways if platinum autopay cc trick stops working in future then I can always upgrade to millennia again right?
