🚗 My First Experience with IDFC Credit Card’s Free Roadside Assistance (RSA) 🔧

Last week, I was all set to take my Tata Altroz out for a drive. I got into the car and pressed the start button - but nothing happened. Instead of the engine starting, I just heard a few knocking sounds from the engine area. It was clear something was wrong 😟.

I called Tata Motors' emergency support. They said a technician could come and check the issue, but it would cost ₹880 for jump-starting and ₹3,200 for towing if needed. I wasn’t sure if it was a dead battery or a wiring issue - maybe even a rat bite 🐀, since I usually park the car outside my home.

Then 💡 I remembered that some of my IDFC credit cards offer complimentary Roadside Assistance (RSA) 🚨. I have quite a few of them — the Wealth, Power+, Ashva, and Mayura credit cards, as well as the Wealth debit card.

I decided to use my Mayura card 🦚- mostly because it’s a paid card, and I thought, “Why not get something back for that joining fee?” 😄

I quickly checked the terms and conditions 📃 and called the toll-free number ☎️ mentioned there.

The process was super smooth:
  • The person on the call asked for my name, last 4 digits of the card, vehicle make and model, and year of purchase.
  • He asked me to share my RC copy and current location 📍 via WhatsApp, while still on the call.
  • After verifying the details ✅, he added a local technician 👨‍🔧 to the call.
The technician tried to understand the issue over the phone and then said he would reach in 25 minutes ⏱️ — and he did, right on time, even in the scorching 3 PM sun 🌞!

He came with a battery pack, checked my battery, and confirmed that it had no charge left. He then jump-started my car ⚡ in just a few minutes. He also advised me to keep the engine running for some time to help the battery regain charge. Then he suggested getting the battery health checked 🧰 at a nearby shop.

I followed his advice and got the battery tested 🔍. The service center found a minor issue, recommended a warranty replacement, but said it was safe to use for now 👍.

I had originally planned to leave at 1:30 PM, but finally hit the road around 4:30 PM. Still, I was relieved that everything was handled smoothly - and the best part?

🎉 The entire service was free!

I gave the technician a small tip - he was professional, helpful, and showed up on time despite the heat 🔥.

Final Thoughts 💭

This was my first time using the IDFC Roadside Assistance, and I’m really happy with how well it worked 💯. The process was easy, the support team was quick, and the technician was spot-on 👌. If you have an eligible IDFC card, don’t forget this benefit — it can save you when you least expect it 🚘✨.

🙏 Big thanks to IDFC FIRST Bank for offering such a helpful service — it really made a difference that day.

Also, a shoutout to ChatGPT 🤖 for helping me put this experience into words so neatly!

Sorry to say
But this is wrong info.

I also have availed this service twice and there is no such compulsion.

Kindly edit .
Oh!! He particularly asked me if the vehicle is registered in the cardholder name. So I understood it this way. Anyway thanks for the information. I will update it.

Btw, nothing sorry here😄 Will gladly accept mistakes😊

Gaadi change karo brother, roj band ho rhi hai 😂

Translation: change your vehicle brother, it's getting shut every now & then 😂
It is a 5 year old vehicle and never faced such frustrating incidents so far brother.
It all started with a battery failure two weeks ago. I got it replaced under brand warranty.

Then I left my vehicle at a TATA service centre for 45k general service. And you know, TATA has a habit of fixing one reported issue and creating a fresh issue in the process. This time this shit has happened.

They delivered my vehicle after completing the service this Sunday morning only. I did a test drive also and I parked it at my home. Now just after two days after the service, I am shocked to find my new battery completely drained. Tested my battery and it is perfectly fine. Today is May 1 - service centres are closed. Waiting for Saturday morning to blast them. When I contacted them over phone call, they are suspecting some parasitic drain.

Totally understandable, Tata's build quality is solid, but the service is disappointing.

Hope everything goes well tomorrow, best of luck haha.

Yes, It is very good until everything works fine. But, if something goes wrong, you will start getting headaches.
Some or the other issue will keep on coming......

Now I came to my hometown - disconnecting the negative terminal whenever I park the vehicle, to prevent the battery drain.

You will have to start living with whatever is working and not working on that particular day.
