Autopay failing is a bug that no one in HDFC knows why. HDFC will provide whatever nonsense reason they can think at the time of responding.
You just leave it like that and pay manually whenever it fails. It auto corrects itself one fine day and you will see autopay succeeding for the same cards...
Not trying to demoralize you. For late payment scenario, you can get back penalties & interests levied minus GST, but getting back credit score is very rare.
You can try writing to them that it is a one time genuine mistake and you assure that it will never happen again.
Standard kind of bug in HDFC. Mail to grievance with screenshots. They will provide nonsense or canned responses or ask absurd questions, which will take you nowhere. Then raise a complaint to RBI BO attaching the email response and also add amount for compensation. See the magic.
Thanks @Sobirvs @spd @panu24 . Just got off the phone with SBI Card customer care. Limit transfer was done instantly and is effective immediately. Received the limit transfer SMS immediately. I had thought new limits would reflect from next billing cycle.
