Devaluation Airtel app levying usage fee on utility payments on Airtel Axis credit card

Airtel started levying usage fees on electricity bill payments while using Airtel Axis credit card on its app. Might add the same for other bill payments also.

I think the convenience fees is being implemented in phases and not based on android version. Today i paid electricity bill without any charges and i am currently using app 4.116.1 on android.

I can confirm that using the older version of the app is still allowing electricity bill payment without any charges. It showed charges on 116 version, uninstalled and installed 113, no charges shown and paid the electricity bill without any charges.

I didn't pay any extra charges while paying current electricity bill, so yeah might be dependent on the user. Probably they are testing the waters a bit....

There is no usage fee on the gas bill. Usage fee is only applicable on electricity bill payment.

aaj bhai water bill bhara hai mene, i was charged 1% + GST on 1%. So now effective return would be less than 10%.

Yes. I think they will implement fee on every bill payment soon

So now effective return rate is 8.82% on utilites other than airtel bills. Yesterday i paid airtel black bill but uspe nahi tha usage fees. May be airtel pe vo fees nahi lenge. Non airtel pe lagenge.

They didn't charge any extra on Airtel broadband bill payment. Let’s see what happens when I pay this month’s bills of electricity.

Bill Amount= 881
Usage fee= 10.92 (1.24%)
Total Payment= 881+10.92= 891.92
Cashback Received= 88.1
Effective Cashback= 8.76%
No fee on Airtel Bills currently.. Usage Fee approximately 1.24% on other Utility Bills.

Yes, they are charging a usage fee. I think this is on other than Airtel broadband bill. When I recharged the electricity meter with 2500 yesterday, I was charged a usage fee of almost 30.00.
