For Atlas , the Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) markup fee is 1.5% plus taxes for international transactions performed in Indian currency at an international location or with merchants located in India but registered in a foreign nationHi,
I am trying to book a foreign airbnb. The airbnb website is showing everything in INR by default. Will I be charged 4% on this if I use atlas?

Didn't get the 1.5% part. On the website it says 3.5%? Very noob to this. Can you please tell me when will I be charged 3.5 and when will it be 1.5?
i had booked airbnb for Sri lanka and got only 2 EM per 100..Got it. Thank you so much both @Quiksilver27 and @coolguy1
Another followup question. Does airbnb fall under 5 EM category? I read somewhere that international airbnb has a separate MCC compared to domestic one.
Yes, PAN number was asked..I see. I just searched and found this reddit thread. Even in my case, the airbnb portal is forwarding to Razorpay and asking for PAN details. When you booked for Sri Lanka, did the same happen?
Yes I was charged DCC on KlookDo they charge dcc fees on klook too?
You can use a card which has the maximum base rewards subtracting any DCC charged by the card. People generally use SBI cashback card to get 5% as there are no DCC charges levied by SBI. I don't know Olympus's base reward rate and DCC but it might be the best in your listed cards.Best card to use in klook ? Olympus, Infinia, HSBC premier, Times Black, atlas ? Appreciate any suggestion

so in simple terms.. if u pay in foreign currency like usd aed eur etc you will be charged 3.5% plus gst and if u pay to a foreign company in INR then DCC of 1.5% plus gst
For any international payment on INR, is the DCC charge in addition to the Forex charge?? Or is it only the 1.77% DCC only without any forex? While paying internationally,
in foreign currency -> attracts Foreign currency transaction fee.(3.5%+GST)
in INR -> attracts DCC. Dynamic Currency Conversion.(1.5%+GST)
Both get charged extra depending on the card you have. 🙂

DCC is usually around 1% + GST for most cards and forex rate would be more like around 2% + GST even for very good cards. Therefore DCC is always beneficial when you get reward points.Question, I thought forex is better to do than dcc cause conversion rate is too high when done via dcc. Is it wrong?
