Atlas no more from August 31st?

if you can hit 8L in a year..go for HDFC DCBM, or 6L/7L in a year go for the combo of HDFC Regalia Gold and Sbi Cashback/Phonepe black

itna bhi acha nahi hai atlas..joo tadap rahe ho.. don't go with FOMO feeling
HDFC wale mere Freedom card ko Moneyback+ mai convert kar de wohi badi baat hogi abhi😅. DCBM toh bohot door ki baat hai. Will miss atlas. It was a no nonsense card.

I already have Atlas in pre-approved cards list butI have a hunch that if Axis is thinking of discontinuing new applications for Atlas then it's highly probable that they'll devalue it too soon or might scrap it totally...
We all know about reputation of Axis in terms of cards
So rushing behind it on basis of a rumour doesn't looks like a good idea to me

Yes with axis there is always that risk there..
But if you really really require Atlas, it is better to take the card now .. at least until the unwanted thing happens you can enjoy..
This is the only way we can play with axis.. no other way..
Enjoy while it lasts.. don’t know when the musical chair stops with so much unpredictability…
Have fun …

Atlas was a good card for offline spends and travel spends. With good transfer partners too.
I was lucky to get it last month. Now if they stop it, do t know what will happen to existing card holders.
Travel one is not directly in the same league of atlas.
Card experts should find another card maybe horizon Olympus magnus or something else.

As long as atlas is there, it's fine. But after that what?
Regalia Gold
Plat travel
Travel one
These are close but not matching.

Mayne one card cannot replace atlas. We need a combination of 2 cards. What are your preferred replacements if atlas shuts down?

Existing atlas cards will be available or replaced with something shit haha

I don't think they will be scrapping Atlas. If so they wouldn't be opening it up for add-on cards now.

However, there is a good chance that they will be discontinuing new applications. I think this is because they want to focus on Horizon and the upcoming launch of Olympus for general public.

Atlas is superior in rewards compared to Horizon and Olympus with even annual fees being not that high. The existence of Atlas must be hampering the sales of Horizon and will undercut Olympus too.

Like someone said Atlas is an expensive product for Axis, the last remaining vestige of that exuberant OG Magnus era. They can't really devalue it because Horizon exists. Everyone will immediately close their cards and Axis will lose all those annual fees, they probably learned this from Magnus (though losing Magnus annual fees would've still been better than continuing with it).

So yeah, discontinuing it makes sense for Axis but hopefully they will let us use it in its present form for a couple of years more.

They may simply 'downgrade' the Atlas card to Horizon at each person's renewal (with the lower annual fee). That way, they have two distinct tiers: Olympus (super premium) and Horizon (premium) and they save some money since Horizon offers only a 1:1 transfer ration.

Yes this too is quite possible. However most people would just cancel the card and move to HSBC T1. That is a much superior travel product compared to Horizon at a marginally higher cost. Not that Axis cares, but this is expected of them, actively making customers abandon their products and pushing them towards competition. Axis doesn't like to have customers. The fewer, the better, they say.

Also, there's a (very) small subset of people who have both Atlas and Horizon.

Yes I got atlas ltf with burgundy relationship after long lengthy fight upto pno
Let axis retain atlas for my efforts lol
hsbc Tavel will be a good competitor

As per sources, they are closing applications for Atlas starting 31st August. Existing Card holders won't be affected only new issuance will be paused.

Its one of the best cards available out there, beats several premium cards easily when it comes to base reward rate.

If you're looking for it, you can call support and try to get existing card upgraded to Atlas..

Lets say Atlas goes for toss, which card would be the best (except M4B) for an upcoming car purchase?

Currently I mostly use ICICI EPM as my daily driver (via GVs), and for excluded spends it is Amex Plat Travel. My 4L milestone is almost done for this year (renews in Feb-March next year), so I don't think I can use it. Acceptability might be the issue with Amex too. And spend on car purchase would at-least go around 12-15L. Have been passively looking, and it will get delayed for sure because of the whole petrol E20 thing going on.

Axis Atlas has been pre-approved for me for quite some time so I was thinking to take it when it is finally needed. I don't trust Axis's ecosystem for long duration after whole Magnus thing, hence did not take it yet. Also will not go for Burgundy account with M4B (at that fees) as it will not be value for my usual spend patterns. I only hold one Axis card - Flipkart Axis which I have been holding because it is one of my oldest cards, free and I do use it to avail extra upfront discounts sometimes on Flipkart purchases.

DCBM is one option I see.
