HSBC Enters the Game – Accelerated Rewards Travel Portal Now Live!

3L net monthly and hsbc premier is yours. One of the most straightforward premium cc to get.
Is it guaranteed if you meet the income guidelines or does that simply mean you are eligible and then they would look at your credit status and risk? My income would easily qualify if they accepted self employed people. I can easily maintain the 40 lakh threshold as well. Will have to go to a branch and discuss the details.

Any cc is subject to credit risk verification. So no, premier cc is not 100% guaranteed even if you meet premier criteria

Anyone who tried using the hsbc portal? I cannot see the View more page in my HSBC India app for the rewards point even after uninstalling the app and reinstalling it and even my Samsung S24 ultra is on the latest version. But still cannot see credit card option on India app of hsbc.

Do share what does the branch say regarding self-employed people. Also, it would be helpful if you could ask them whether opening a "Personal Banking" relationship (1.5 lac) help in getting the Travel One credit card.

I've the LTF visa platinum card from 8+ years or so. Just called and put a request to upgrade travel one, it took less than10 mins on the call. The rep said it will be processed with in 3-4 working days.
received an sms today stating card reclassification request is successfully closed and that i should receive it within 7 working days

Do you know whether this method works? Can you please elaborate on how much of an amount needs to be maintained in Savings/Current account?
As long as you have ITR above 4 lakhs opening a current/savings account should work for self employed. Not sure about MAB to be maintained..

Rent no excluded? That's surprising.

I visited a branch yesterday. Had a meeting with their manager and she called a senior regional manager who was visiting as well as another investment manager. They first interviewed me for a while before deciding if I was a suitable customer. Even asked me if I had ever traveled to Cuba, Iran, Syria etc or intended to travel! Completely ridiculous of course. They claim it is due to US sanctions and they don’t want people who have business interests in those countries. Asked me whether I received any cash income (black money) as well! They seem rather paranoid.
Anyway, they want a cheque of at least 40 lakhs to open the Premier account and would apply for the card at the same time. They would, of course, prefer a higher initial amount like at least 1 crore. Demat balance would be counted but, they do not have a trading facility for stocks! You can transfer your existing holdings to them and hold them but if you need to trade, you would have to transfer them to another depository to sell! You can buy and sell MFs with them though. If I decide to go with them, I would just invest 40 lakhs in MFs through them and be done with it. They seem fairly confident of getting the card approved once you become a customer but advised that the credit limit would depend upon the relationship value. S&C had said the same as well.
